As an <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Inclusive Child Care Worker (ICCW)</span>, you will support children with a wide range of developmental and support needs. This position is part of the Inclusive Child Care (ICC) Model, a collaborative project involving multiple community partners, dedicated to making inclusive childcare accessible to all families who seek it. Your adventure begins here – because <span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><em>Opportunity Changes Everything!</em></span></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Key Duties and Responsibilities:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Participate in assessment, goal setting and program planning.</li>\n<li>Evaluates client needs and develops short-term plans to meet such needs.</li>\n<li>Supporting children with a range of support needs in their childcare setting.</li>\n<li>Supports full inclusion of one or more children in a childcare, afterschool care, or life skills program, and implementing strategies identified by the inclusive childcare consultant(s) defined in the participant's support/care plan.</li>\n<li>Facilitates physical, recreational, educational, social, and vocational activities.</li>\n<li>Recognizes, analyzes and manages potential emergency situations such as members aggressive behavior to minimize potential ensures no harm comes to the members and/or the public. Reports problems to the supervisor.</li>\n<li>Reviews and evaluates member progress and adjusts programs as required.</li>\n<li>Identifies social, economic, recreational, physical, vocational and educational services in the community that will meet member needs. Maintains liaison with other agencies, professionals, government officials and the community.</li>\n<li>Promotes inclusivity among peers while providing appropriate accommodation.</li>\n<li>Builds and maintains positive relationships with members’ parents/guardians, ensuring effective and ongoing communication with families.</li>\n<li>Maintains accurate documentation of participants, including daily case notes, statistical data, and program reports.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Qualifications:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Diploma in human/social service field</li>\n<li>One (1) year relevant experience working with children and youth with support needs or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.</li>\n<li>Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle, as travel between clubs is required</li>\n<li>Current First Aid Certificate, or willingness to obtain</li>\n<li>ECE or ECE Assistant certification considered an asset</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Hours: </span>35 hours/week, Monday to Friday, between 8am-6pm</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Rate of Pay</span>: $25.95 per hour</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Closing Date: </span>Open until filled.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><em>As an equal opportunity employer, BGC Okanagan is committed to the prioritization of equitable and inclusive employment practices.
