The new Summit Broadband is poised for an incredible future fueled by team members dedicated to being the best.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Position: Title: Headend Engineer</strong></p><p><strong>Reports To: Manager, Network Services</strong></p><p><strong>Position Status: Full-time/Exempt</strong></p><p><strong>Location: Orlando, FL</strong></p><p><br></p><p><strong>Position Summary:</strong></p><p><br></p><p>The Headend Engineer’s primary responsibility will be assisting with the management and maintenance of fiber optic transport and RF delivery networks for the company’s video and data products.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Serve as SME (Subject Matter Expert) for HFC and RF optical transport networks</li><li>Work with fiber plant personnel to maximize use of existing and future fiber facilities</li><li>Continual development of an all-digital headend, including TVRO’s, equipment racking, provisioning, and testing</li><li>Create and maintain accurate documentation of existing and future hub site deployments to include physical and logical diagrams</li><li>Maintain a very high standard of wiring management from both a network and cosmetic perspective</li><li>Maintain integrity of forward and reverse combining networks at the headend and remote POP’s</li><li>Perform technical evaluations of emerging technologies to support our Technology Roadmap</li><li>Actively perform RF troubleshooting and training</li><li>Manage the CMTS’s from an RF perspective</li><li>Install, align and maintain headend based optical transmitters and receivers for the HFC network</li><li>Install and configure equipment for new product launches including GPON FTTH</li><li>Perform conversion of HFC to GPON FTTH properties</li><li>Complete FCC proof-of-performance, CLI testing as required and file necessary reports</li></ul><p><br></p>",
