The host/hostess will seat guests, present menus to guests, inform guests of their server, and answer any intermediary questions prior to the arrival of the server.</p><p><u>Responsibilities</u></p><ul><li>Greet and seat guests</li><li>Present menus to guests</li><li>Create and organize wait lists</li><li>Manage floor plan</li><li>Answer phone and answer any questions regarding the menu and restaurant</li><li>Manage the call-ahead/reservation list in tandem with a manager</li><li>Interact with guests as they leave the restaurant in order to ensure positive dining experience</li></ul><p><u>Skills</u></p><ul><li>Strong verbal communication skills towards guests and coworkers</li><li>Superb reading and writing skills in order to create wait list and decipher wait time</li><li>Excellent organizational skills</li><li>Multitask in a high volume setting</li></ul><p><u>Working Conditions</u></p><ul><li>Be able to stand for the entirety of a scheduled shift</li><li>Be able to reach, bend, and stoop frequently</li><li>Be able to carry up to 15 lbs.</li></ul><p><u>Education/Experience</u></p><ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent is preferred</li><li>Prior restaurant experience is not required</li></ul>",
