Titl e Graphics Designer Client State of LA Location New Orleans, LA Resumes Due 18 th August 2021 Rate Up to $49/hr Duration ~250hrs/year Description/Role The mission of the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners is to protect and improve the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Louisiana through licensing, regulation, research, and discipline of physicians and allied health professionals in a manner that protects the rights and privileges of the licensees. The Board desires to update it’s current website with the latest technologies to improve security, usability and functionality. Both the underlying development platform and the user interface will be addressed during this project. Current technologies used are .Net, Drupal, HTML 5 and SharePoint. The resources mentioned here must be proficient in current and future technologies including but not limited to .Net, Drupal, HTML5 and SharePoint . The scope of the proposed services will include the following: One (1) Graphics Designer The duties of a Graphics Designer include, but are not limited to: Meet with State staff to determine the scope of a project; Advise State on strategies to reach a particular audience; Determine the message the design should portray; Create images that identify a product or convey a message; Develop graphics for logos and websites; Select colors, images, text style, and layout; Present the design to State; Incorporate changes recommended by the State into the final design; Review designs for errors before printing or publishing them; Ensure that coding standards are met; optimizing the web architectures for navigability and accessibility Utilize specialized graphic design software to prepare designs; Must be proficient in Adobe InDesign and Photoshop. Keep up to date with the latest software and computer technologies; Plan site design by clarifying goals; designing functionality; Develop site navigation by categorizing content; funneling traffic through content; Develop site content and graphics by coordinating with copywriters and graphic artists; designing images, icons, banners, audio enhancements, related site enhancements; Prepare site by installing and configuring server software; installing programming language using authoring and formatting tools; ensuring cross-platform compatibility; establishing links; Establish locatability by registering with search engines; Upgrades site by updating content and graphics; monitoring performance and results; identifying and evaluating improvement options; introducing new technology; maintaining links; Protect site by designing and installing security precautions; Maintain site appearance by developing and enforcing content and display standards; editing submissions; Provide information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
