Description

T he Online Lending Specialist, or Relationship Specialist, is responsible for all loans received through our electronic delivery channels, including inbound and outbound online,mobile, and phone, and will be responsible for ensuring the positive Member experience associated with online lending. This includes, but is not limited to, adherence to processes, policies, and procedures related to lending and assisting Members with loan and lending needs and loan support or problem-solving through the related channels while meeting and exceeding sales and loan goals for this department. The Relationship Specialist must also demonstrate a belief in, and be a champion of, Mazuma’s culture and core values and meet desired expectations in these areas. This position will be responsible for individual loan production, meeting all referral and ancillary goals, quality assurance, and any other sales expectations as assigned.
Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
Role & Responsibilities
Sales and Service. This position must be fully engaged in all relevant sales and service activities and able to handle high volumes of work. The Relationship Specialist will guide, inform, and educate our Members through each interaction by helping them select the right product or service to meet their needs, rather than simply being an “order-taker”. This position will have the drive, desire, and ability to meet or exceed the expectations in all areas including loan, referral, ancillary, cross-sales, and any other assigned goals. A strong focus in this area will determine overall success as it is related to profitability and sustainability for the department and the departments’ measurable key performance indicators. This position will also be responsible for supporting all Mazuma initiatives and will help to drive the electronic sales of Mazuma through relationship expansion, cross selling, referrals, and new member acquisition.
E-Sales Operations. This includes knowledge of all products and services offered by the credit union, knowledge of all Credit Union policies and operating procedures, and knowledge of laws and regulations affecting operations and personnel. Will ensure overall departmental balancing, maintenance of various monthly spreadsheets related to assigned areas, and any other related reports as assigned. Will work with all departments as needed to ensure organizational alignment for successful processes and workflows related to the electronic sales. Identify opportunities to increase sales and improve productivity through the applicable electronic channels. Maintain awareness of current and emerging trends related to electronic sales and how they could be incorporated into Mazuma’s overall strategies. Files loan documents with the appropriate agencies. Answers member phone calls. Identifies and takes action to improve the group's operating methods and procedures. Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Experience:
Minimum 1 year of lending and sales experience.
Specific experience (e.g., ACH, IRA, Check Processing, loans,etc.): Experience in a Call Center, outbound sales, and financial institution strongly preferred.
Education:
A high school education or GED
Other Skills:
Windows and Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, and Excel) as well as advanced keyboarding skills
Effective at problem-solving and making decisions
Well organized
Good mathematical ability, with strong problem-solving and negotiation skills
Must be able to take phone calls for up to 8 hours
Required to work a flexible schedule that may include extended hours, holidays, or Saturdays
Performs other duties as assigned
