Description

General Summary: Since 1913, Hooper has grown to become a well-respected electric power and mechanical contractor. With headquarters in Wisconsin and regional offices in the states of Colorado, Florida, and Ohio, Hooper provides a wide range of services to support commercial and residential clients. Our team is seeking a skilled Fleet Mechanic to join our union shop in Wisconsin. This role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining medium and heavy trucks, trailers, and construction equipment. Principal Accountabilities: Knowledge of major truck systems including diesel and gas engines, and ability to diagnose problems, make repairs, and perform preventive maintenance Ability to operate a variety of equipment including dozers, backhoes, skid steers, backhoes and cranes Familiarity with FMCSA and DOT inspection requirements and regulations Ability to operate basic shop tools including welders, cutting torches, battery & air tools Ability to fabricate, cut, weld, construct and build with steel Familiarity with the basics of Microsoft Word and Excel Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to interact positively with mechanics and management Ability to keep a clean and organized workspace including but not limited to floor/workshop, toolbox, and equipment on hand Understand and practice workplace safety
