We offer locals and visitors an opportunity to experience breathtaking Alaska scenery, explore the miles of trails atop Mount Roberts, and learn more about Alaska Native culture. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Summary</strong></p>\n<p>Responsible for performing as an assistant to supervisor, and in a lead capacity by assigning and checking work and providing daily guidance/training to subordinate Hosts and oversees efforts to prevent the public from becoming nonpaying riders. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Part-time and full-time schedules are available.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>We're excited to share that the job is based in beautiful Juneau, Alaska! We kindly ask that all applicants either live in Juneau or be open to relocating at their own expense. </strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Pay and Benefits: </strong></p>\n<p>Seasonal Employees are eligible for the Seasonal Employee Layoff Bonus Plan. The plan is designed to provide an effective means to motivate and compensate eligible seasonal employees during the term of their assignment. However, Goldbelt, Inc. may, in certain limited circumstances, grant discretionary performance bonuses outside of this program, in the sole discretion of the Company.</p>\n<p>Goldbelt, Inc. hopes that by providing short-term incentive compensation, this will motivate and increase the retention rate among its employees which in turn will enhance Goldbelt Inc.’s long-term value.</p>\n<p>Starting Rate: $21.00 - DOE </p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Necessary Skills and Knowledge</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to meet time and attendance requirements.</li>\n <li>Ability to work all different shifts including holidays and weekends.</li>\n <li>Ability to attend all scheduled meetings, orientations and trainings.</li>\n <li>Ability to handle stress under pressure.</li>\n <li>Excellent communication and customer service skills.</li>\n <li>Ability to learn, understand, and follow oral and written instructions/directions.</li>\n <li>Skill in operating personal computer utilizing a variety of computer software.</li>\n <li>Skill in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with other employees.</li>\n <li>Ability to work directly with the public, providing information and assistance on a daily basis.</li>\n <li>Ability/willingness to learn and pass on to guests those areas of interest to visitors, such as local history, people, culture, geography, etc.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications (education, experience, skills)</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>High school diploma or equivalent.</li>\n <li>Two (2) seasons of host, customer service or paraprofessional level experience involved with tourism, travel, and/or hospitality services.</li>\n <li>Ability to successfully pass a background check.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Preferrred Qualifications (education, experience, skills)</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Current CPR and first aid certificates.</li>\n <li>Drug testing may be required.</li>\n <li>Previous experience working in the visitor or hospitality industry or other customer service related field.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Job Duties</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ensure that each customer receives prompt and courteous service</li>\n <li>People-oriented and able to provide superior customer service.</li>\n <li>Display a positive attitude that is contagious, speaking highly of the company in the presence of customers or other associates.</li>\n <li>Functions as the respective host supervisor with limited decision-making authority, during operational hours when manager is not on duty; striving to maintain and/or improve guest services.</li>\n <li>Assists the Guest Services Supervisor in establishing and nurturing a good working relationship between the Tramway and vendors, cruise ship sales staff, in order to secure and increase sales from, and offer quality services and products to, potential tramway guests.</li>\n <li>Acts as one of the primary contacts to settle collected vouchers with cruise ship staff to ensure GT will be paid accurately; accurately collects and exchanges cruise ship vouchers for tramway tickets.</li>\n <li>Familiar with theater operations at the upper terminal, Operates projection and sound system for the theater complex.</li>\n <li>As an experienced Host, provides correct tour and local visitor information and assistance to guests at the lower terminal, and/or assistance/guidance to subordinate Hosts, explaining the practices, procedures and techniques of providing excellent customer service to all incoming and outgoing passengers. Assigns tasks; checks quality of work performance; and makes follow-up suggestions for improvement.</li>\n <li>Train and supervise subordinate hosts.</li>\n <li>Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.</li>\n</ul>",
