    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>The Health Assistant will provide support for College Health Services during office hours and/or be on call to respond to calls when the office is closed, as well as staff the Impaired Student Recovery Area and special events. </p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>EDUCATION</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>If a student, must maintain a 2.0 or higher-grade point average. Required</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>EMT - Emergency Medical Tech</li>\n <li>Must possess a current EMT Certification for the state of Pennsylvania OR be a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA), a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), or a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA). Required</li>\n <li>Maintain required certification or licensing as required by the licensing/certifying board. Required</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>EXPERIENCE</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>One (1) year as an active EMT, CNA, LPN, or CMA. Preferred</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>ABILITIES AND SKILLS</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions. Required</li>\n <li>Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form. Required</li>\n <li>Ability to work on own initiative. Required</li>\n <li>Ability to work with students with diverse backgrounds and needs. Required</li>\n <li>Must be willing and able to attend training as requested. Required</li>\n <li>Determines nature and extent of illness or injury. Required</li>\n <li>Ability to communicate verbally; via telephone and radio equipment. Required</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<li>Be knowledgeable of College procedures and act accordingly.</li>\n<li>Receive calls.</li>\n<li>Assist in lifting carrying and transporting patients if needed.</li>\n<li>Provide care following established protocols or medical direction if required.</li>\n<li>Report nature of illness or injury to receiving medical facility.</li>\n<li>Replace/stock supplies.</li>\n<li>Check all equipment/supplies for future readiness/response.</li>\n<li>Ensure cleanliness and orderliness of equipment and supplies.</li>\n<li>Maintain familiarity with all specialized equipment.</li>\n<li>Serve in the impaired student holding area (ISRA), overseeing impaired students who may present a danger to themselves and are unable to return safely to their residences.</li>\n<li>Provide necessary care and observe condition of impaired students monitoring for the need for additional medical services.</li>\n<li>Remove soiled linens and provide appropriate care to patients in the Health Center.</li>\n<li>Attend meetings; critique medical charts with supervisor; attend training sessions as required.</li>\n<h2>Physical Standards and Special Job Features</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Able to move about freely on campus.</li>\n <li>Must be able to work in an uncontrolled stressful environment. Ability to lift, carry, and balance up to 125 lbs. (250 lbs. with assistance).</li>\n <li>Good manual dexterity, with ability to perform all tasks related to highest quality patient care.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Pay Transparency</h2>$17.65 per hour.\n<h2>College Statement</h2>This is not a complete itemization of all facets of this position.
