The QISG team brings together Engineering, Safety, Quality, Material Procurement, QA/QC, Right-of-Way Acquisition, Scheduling, Environmental Planning, Permitting, Title and Land Management expertise that ensure outstanding results for our clients.</p>\n<h2>About this Role</h2>\n<p><strong>Sr. Cost Specialist – Eagle Mountain, UT (75% Onsite)</strong></p>\n<p>QISG is seeking a <strong>Sr. Cost Specialist </strong>to support a <strong>286MW simple-cycle power generation facility</strong> powering a data center in Eagle Mountain, UT. This is a <strong>construction-only EPC project</strong> valued at approximately <strong>$250M</strong>, with a duration of about <strong>22 months</strong>.</p>\n<p>The role requires strong experience in <strong>utility, EPC, or heavy industrial construction cost control</strong>, including forecasting, budget tracking, cost reporting, and change management. <strong>Simple-cycle power generation experience is preferred but not required.</strong></p>\n<p>This is a <strong>full-time, permanent QISG position (not contract)</strong> starting ASAP. Upon project completion, the candidate will transition to another active project within QISG.</p>\n<p></p>\n<h3>About the Role</h3>\n<p>At QISG, we design and build complex renewable infrastructure, with a strong focus on projects that power communities and strengthen the modern grid.</p>\n<p>As a <strong>Cost Specialist</strong>, you will drive cost control and financial performance across large, multi-year utility capital projects, supporting T&D, substation, and power generation work from early execution through closeout.</p>\n<p>This role is ideal for a project-based cost professional with deep experience in job costing, forecasting, and change management within utilities, EPC, power generation, or heavy commercial construction environments.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>You will partner closely with Project Managers, Project Controls, Engineering, and Construction teams to ensure accurate cost visibility, manage financial risk, and support data-driven decision-making across complex grid infrastructure programs.</p>\n<h2>What You'll Do</h2>\n<ul>\n <li><p>Track and control costs across EPC utility projects, including transmission, substations, renewables, and utility construction</p></li>\n <li><p>Manage budget vs. actuals, forecasts, and cost trends on multi-year capital programs</p></li>\n <li><p>Develop and maintain EACs and ETCs to ensure accurate financial projections</p></li>\n <li><p>Identify cost variances and risks early, escalating issues to project leadership</p></li>\n <li><p>Support change management, including change orders, budget adjustments, and cost impacts</p></li>\n <li><p>Partner with Project Managers, Operations, and technical teams to align financials with execution plans</p></li>\n <li><p>Deliver clear cost reports, dashboards, and forecasts for leadership and stakeholders</p></li>\n <li><p>Ensure compliance with Project Controls Execution Plans and company standards</p></li>\n <li><p>Leverage JDE, EcoSys, Procore, Excel, and Power BI for job cost tracking and reporting</p></li>\n <li><p>Act as a trusted cost advisor, driving continuous improvement in cost control practices</p></li>\n</ul>\n<h2>What You'll Bring</h2>\n<ul>\n <li><p>7+ years of project cost control or project controls experience within <strong>EPC and renewables</strong> environments</p></li>\n <li><p>Strong hands-on expertise in cost forecasting, budget management, change management, and cost/risk trend analysis</p></li>\n <li><p>Experience in project-based capital environments (not manufacturing or corporate accounting)</p></li>\n <li><p>Advanced Excel skills; experience with JDE and/or EcoSys required, Procore preferred</p></li>\n <li><p>Ability to translate complex cost data into clear, actionable insights for project leadership</p></li>\n <li><p>Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)</p></li>\n <li><p>Willingness to be on project site 75% of time for a 22 month long project - This is a full time hire, not contract, elgible for full benefits. </p></li>\n <li>Assistance with lodging in Eagle Mountain, UT offered if not already residing in the area. </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>What You'll Get</h2>\n<p><strong>Compensation & Benefits Overview</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><p><strong>Employment Type:</strong> Full-time hire</p></li>\n <li><p><strong>Generous Base Salary</strong></p></li>\n <li><p><strong>Annual Bonus:</strong> 10% target bonus based on individual performance and overall company profitability</p></li>\n <li><p><strong>Benefits:</strong> Full medical, dental, and vision coverage</p></li>\n <li><p><strong>401(k):</strong> Company match included</p></li>\n <li><p><strong>Paid Time Off:</strong> 4 weeks PTO</p></li>\n <li><p><strong>Benefits Eligibility:</strong> All benefits begin on the 1st of the month following the date of hire</p></li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Additional Details:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><p>If the employee does not currently reside in the Eagle Mountain, UT area and requires temporary housing for the duration of the project, rental expenses may be charged to the company P-card.</p></li>\n <li><p>The company P-card will also be used for approved business travel expenses.#LI-SM1</p></li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Equal Opportunity Employer</h2>\n<p>All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment and will not be discriminated against on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin or ancestry, sex (including gender, pregnancy, sexual orientation, and/or gender identity), age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, and/or any other basis protected by applicable federal, state or local law.We are an Equal Opportunity Employer, including disability and protected veteran status.
