    "description": "<h2>Role Summary</h2>\n<p>Free People is looking for an Associate buyer to work within our growing FP Beach category who is responsible for working with the buyer and creating an exciting and timely product assortment for the retail and direct businesses that meet or exceed the sales volume and profit for the department.</p>\n<h2>Role Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Supporting the daily operations within designated buying area and developing partnerships with the buyer on all necessary tasks</li>\n <li>Ownership of buying a product class within the buying area</li>\n <li>The ability to conceptually plan assortments that meet financial objectives</li>\n <li>Delegating and directing the daily activities of the assistants and provide direction to the team</li>\n <li>Prioritizing tasks and balancing the immediate and long term needs of the business</li>\n <li>Researching and executing development of product in the marketplace</li>\n <li>Personnel skills to work well with cross functional partners and team to achieve plans</li>\n <li>Working closely with planning to understand financial indicators to react and drive business</li>\n <li>Working with the buyer to learn to determine the overall mix of market and private label product for each buying area to ensure the final mix is ultimately customer oriented</li>\n <li>Working with buyer to place buys with conviction</li>\n <li>Learning from buying mistakes and applying those learnings to future buys</li>\n <li>Vocalizing opinions proactively in cross functional or larger merchant meetings</li>\n <li>Managing the flow of merchandise</li>\n <li>Entering, updating, managing, tracking, and organizing purchase orders to ensure timely delivery</li>\n <li>Communicating late deliveries to the buying team</li>\n <li>Setting up new vendors and send them routing guides and pre-ticketing information</li>\n <li>Prioritizing and reacting with a sense of urgency to the requests from both the merchant and cross functional teams</li>\n <li>Assisting the buying team to proof catalog copy</li>\n <li>Identifying photos on the web to be reshot to drive sales</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Role Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Minimum of three years of experience in retail buying or a similar capacity</li>\n <li>Ability to build and maintain productive partnerships and demonstrate strong listening, oral, and written communication skills</li>\n <li>Strong organization and prioritizing skills</li>\n <li>Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities</li>\n <li>Detail oriented</li>\n <li>Creative thinker</li>\n <li>Team player</li>\n <li>Proficient in Excel, Outlook, and Powerpoint</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>The Perks</h2>\n<p>URBN offers comprehensive Perks & Benefits to employees.
