Description

Metallurgical Co-op/Intern Musselwhite Mine Orla Mining is striving to be the emerging gold producer of choice with a geographically diversified asset base, a prospective development and exploration portfolio, an experienced management team with a successful track record, and a high-quality board and shareholder base. Orla operates the Camino Rojo Oxide Gold Mine, a gold and silver open-pit heap leach mine, located in Zacatecas State, Central Mexico. This low-cost operation is 100% owned by Orla, covers over 139,000 hectares, and includes a large sulphide mineral endowment located beneath the oxide resources. We are also advancing permitting and development on our South Railroad Project, a feasibility-stage, open-pit heap leach project located on the prolific Carlin trend in Nevada. This project is part our larger South Carlin Complex which includes a prospective land package. We recently acquired the Musselwhite Mine located in Northern Ontario on Lake Opapimiskan, a gold mine with more than 25 years of operating history. The addition of Musselwhite has allowed Orla to more than double our gold production and provide a strategic entry into a Tier 1 mining jurisdiction. The Musselwhite Mine is highly prospective with potential to expand resources and mine life for years to come. Orla is building a legacy of excellence, respect and sustainable value through responsible gold mining. We are striving to create a net positive benefit for all and leaving a legacy beyond the life of our mines. We do this through building and operating high quality mines supported and led by an experienced team. We are custodians of the assets we run and the environments in which we operate, and we are committed to fostering a culture of excellence, care, and respect. Purpose The Musselwhite Mine Metallurgy department is currently seeking a Metallurgical Co-op/Intern for a 12-month work-term who wants to gain on-site mine and milling experience through a work term placement. These experiences can provide insight into various aspects of gold production, including safety management, project management, process automation, metallurgical test work, data analysis, and engineering design. Other responsibilities of the Metallurgy Student include, but are not limited to: • Learning the milling process from the production floor • Executing required metallurgical test work • Computation of daily/monthly mill production reports • Collection of samples from various stages of the milling circuit, and sample preparation • Entering and analyzing data • Contributing to ongoing process optimization • Working closely with metallurgists, technicians, and operators Requirements: • Preference is given to students with at least 2 years completed in a Chemical Engineering Technologist, Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering or Equivalent Program • Previous experience in a production environment is an asset • Experience with Microsoft Office applications • Flexible with day-to-day tasks • Ability to work both independently and in a group setting • Strong verbal and written communication skills Working Conditions: • The Musselwhite Mine is a fly-in/fly-out operation. The schedule for this role is 14 days worked followed by 14 days off, working 12 hour days. • The work term is 12 months starting September 2026, with a possibility of extension to 16 months. Compensation: • The hourly rate for this position is $20 - $30 per hour, depending on skills, experience, and qualifications.
