Description

Primary Purpose and Function The Senior Clinical Director (SCD) at THIRA Health is responsible for the overall operational and clinical performance of the Department of Program Services. They partner with the Medical Director to ensure high-quality patient care, supervise the managers who oversee the various program services, implement policies, and drive strategic initiatives to improve services and maintain compliance with regulations. Required Qualifications: Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related therapy field Washington State Independent License (LICSW, LMHC, LMFT, Psychologist) Verified/approved state clinical supervision training and certification Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) training and experience Experience teaching, consulting and providing clinical supervision Demonstrated competency in the use of Microsoft Office and the ability to use various electronic software Minimum ten (10) years experience providing individual, group, and/or family therapy from a behavioral orientation Minimum eight (8) years of leadership experience Minimum five (5) years experience supervising and/or managing other staff required Must be able to successfully pass a comprehensive criminal background check (Federal and state) Experience and literacy with Electronic Medical Records systems medical practice software Ability to work evenings, nights, weekends & holidays as needed Perform all other duties as assigned Preferred Qualifications DBT-LBC Certification eligible; DBT-LBC Certification preferred Experience and knowledge of business operations and strategic planning within clinical environment Addendum A: Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions CLINICAL OPERATIONS Provide training and development activities for the Program Managers to enhance their skill development and service delivery within a DBT/CBT framework Provide clinical consultation, supervision and DBT/CBT training to develop the therapy team’s knowledge and skill set Provide clinical supervision to the therapy team, therapists, and students/interns, as needed LEADERSHIP Develop and implement a clear vision for program services that align with the organization’s goals and evolving community needs Foster a culture of excellence, continuous learning and innovation within program teams to improve patient outcomes Lead and inspire teams through changes in clinical protocols, technology, and organizational structure PEOPLE AND PROGRAM MANAGEMENT Establish clear, achievable goals for assigned team members, and how individual roles and responsibilities contribute to the organization's overall success Hire, coach, mentor, discipline and terminate employees, resolve conflicts Evaluate performance and provide constructive feedback on an ongoing basis; complete formal competency assessments and performance evaluations according to established THIRA timelines Demonstrate active listening skills, clearly communicate expectations, and facilitate open dialogue among team members Create and maintain a positive work environment that fosters employee motivation and engagement, and contributes to achievement of department and company goals Oversee the day-to-day operations of program services, including planning, budgeting, and resource allocation Supervise, manage, and evaluate the performance of the Program Managers Partner with the Executive Director to ensure fiscal responsibility by setting budgets, controlling expenses, and optimizing resource utilization for maximum value and efficiency Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of clinical programs and services, adjusting as needed to meet quality and performance standards INTERDISCIPLINARY COLLABORATION Work with various internal teams to coordinate efforts and achieve identified clinical objectives Collaborate to implement new clinical services, improve patient outcomes and drive innovation Clearly communicate expectations, the process of engagement and how stakeholder input will influence decision making Manage diverse viewpoints to build consensus and secure cooperation QUALITY IMPROVEMENT & REGULATORY COMPLIANCE Utilize a structured process to analyze and improve healthcare processes Utilize data and measurements to understand the current state of care and right care needed Work with the Admission and Intake teams to improve the quality and safety of services for patients, ensuring they receive the right care every time Uphold regulations such as HIPAA to protect patient health information and ensure patient safety Stay current with and implement protocols to comply with laws and regulations Work closely with Compliance, Risk and Safety to create and maintain organizational policies and procedures that align with all applicable legal and ethical standards, including Department of Health and Joint Commission Identify potential risks related to non-compliance and implement strategies to mitigate them, thereby avoiding legal and financial repercussions Addendum B: General Responsibilities & Expectations Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions Support and maintain policies regarding professional ethics, including appropriate boundaries and client confidentiality; monitor documents according to company and HIPAA policies. Report any immediate safety hazards to appropriate supervisory personnel or maintenance personnel. Adhere to WA State Requirements for Mandated Reporting Demonstrate awareness and respect for diverse clients and staff Adheres to THIRA Health’s compliance standards, Ethics and Code of Conduct Policy and Conflict of Interest Policy Attend and actively participate in all required THIRA meetings, training, and all other coverage, duties, and special projects as assigned Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and judgement with sensitive and confidential matters, including PII, PHI, and HIPAA requirements Demonstrated ability to multi-task Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment with limited supervision Maintain focus on THIRA’s core principles, priorities, and patient-centered culture Effectively communicate with all levels of staff, visitors, healthcare professionals, marketers, and the public in a professional, sensitive, and interpersonal manner Working Environment Work is performed primarily indoors, with both artificial and natural lighting. Equipment includes standard office equipment, i.e., computer, telephone, fax machine, copier, printer, and scanner. Physical demands include sitting, walking, standing, bending over, repetitive use of hands, and lifting up to 25lbs. Position requires close contact with all THIRA Health staff and mental health patients. Hours and days can vary within a Saturday through Friday day week.
