The Medical Assistant participates as a team member in the overall functioning of the clinic. The <strong>Medical Assistant</strong> is responsible for the flow of the patients for assigned providers (as applicable) each day. They perform duties and procedures as described in the Primary Responsibilities section.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>About the Transplant Clinic</strong></p>\n<p>Our transplant clinic nursing and medical assistant teams provide specialized care for patients receiving assessment and treatment for blood and marrow transplant patients in specialized areas: allogeneic and autologous. Patients receiving care in the Transplant Clinic receive ongoing care over multiple months from a dedicated, multidisciplinary care team.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Please note that this is a full-time (1.0 FTE) onsite position based at our South Lake Union campus within the Transplant Department. </strong></p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Rooms patients and families to exam/procedure area</li>\n <li>Documents vital signs and other patient information per clinic policy</li>\n <li>Assists with procedures as directed</li>\n <li>Conducts clerical tasks, patient transport, cleaning and restocking of exam rooms and other requests to maintain clinic flow</li>\n <li>Recognizes symptoms of common medical illnesses, abnormal vs., and new/existing pain and immediately escalates to RN and/or provider</li>\n <li>Preforms Blood Draws as directed</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Customer Service</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Acts as a liaison between patients/families and health care providers.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Required:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>High School Diploma or equivalent. </li>\n <li>6 months of healthcare experience</li>\n <li>Registration as a Medical Assistant - Registered in the State of Washington completed within the first 30 days.</li>\n <li>Surgical Technologist Registration in the State of Washington State and must be familiar with the State's conduct and standards of practice (Application must be submitted within 1st 30-days of hire)</li>\n <li>Current BLS AHA Health Provider Card (or equivalent course, such as by the American Red Cross) and renewal required every two years</li>\n <li>Current Healthcare provider CPR card</li>\n <li>Proficient in email and word processing systems</li>\n <li>Strong interpersonal and customer services skills</li>\n <li>Ability to work in a fast paced, complex healthcare environment</li>\n <li>Ability to multitask, prioritize and problem solve</li>\n <li>Ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) in a clear and concise manner</li>\n <li>Ability to follow direction and guidance</li>\n <li>Ability to recognize limitations and seek help</li>\n <li>Ability to identify learning needs and plan learning opportunities</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>12 months of Medical Assistant experience</li>\n</ul>\n<p>The hourly pay range for this position is from $28.36 to $40.37 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
