We are looking for people to join our team and be part of an organization that values being community focused, providing customer service excellence, working with integrity, having fun, and fostering belonging!<br> <br>We are now hiring<span style=\"font-weight: bold\"> </span><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">LIFEGUARDS</span> at our Outdoor Pools during the <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Summer 2026 season!</span><br> </span><br><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">WHAT YOU’LL DO:</span></span><br><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">As a lifeguard, you will be responsible for supervising pool patrons and ensure their safety and well-being through the enforcement of rules and regulations. Additional responsibilities include: </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Ensure safety of participants when they are in pool area by enforcing Enforce Park District rules and safety practices.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Scan pool area frequently, keeping attention focused on the pool by using the 10/20 rule.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Perform any necessary rescues and First Aid in accordance with StarGuard standards.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Wear official pool uniform, including corrective eyewear at all times on duty, if medically necessary</span><br></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Maintain lifeguard certification by attending weekly in-service training and practicing skills. </span><br></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">WHAT YOU’LL BRING:</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Some high school education.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Must be at least 15 years of age pursuant to Illinois Department of Health regulations by May 15, 2026</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Must pass the pre-requisite of swimming 100 yards with a tube and 100 yards without a tube, tread water for 1 minute with hands above water, and retrieve diving brick from the bottom of 12 feet. This would occur during the interview process. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Ability to complete an online learning course.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">StarGuard Lifeguard certification or ability to obtain prior to starting work.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">The Last Lifeguard Course available is May 15th, 16th &amp; 17th. All days are from 4-9pm. </span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">   </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">WHEN YOU’LL WORK:</span></span><br><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Scheduled days and hours may vary, 20-40 hours per week. Shifts include weekday and weekend mornings, afternoons, and/or evenings! <em>Flexible schedules!
