    "description": "<p>As a Family Support Worker, you will work as part of the Short-term Services Program which was developed as an intensive case-management service to rapidly resolve the concrete and referral needs of families entering the Child Welfare System. By successfully resolving these issues within 90 days of admission, families are at a reduced risk for being referred to Long-term CPS. Services are provided in the office, home, school, and community. You will report to the Coordinator of Short-term Services and will work onsite with community-based travel required.</p>\n\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>Manage a full caseload.</li>\n\t<li>Complete all required trainings, participate in supervision with supervisor and attend required meetings and in-services as directed by supervisor.</li>\n\t<li>Establish positive and professional relationships with families.</li>\n\t<li>Model and demonstrate problem-solving and decision-making skills.</li>\n\t<li>Work with SCDSS case managers to identify service needs of at-risk families.</li>\n\t<li>Have a thorough knowledge of community services in Schenectady County.</li>\n\t<li>Help families obtain services they need by making referrals, providing transportation, accompanying them to appointments, assisting with applications (medical, schools, DSS, etc.).</li>\n\t<li>Maintain good working relationships with DSS/Support Unit caseworkers.</li>\n\t<li>Complete progress notes or other case record notes promptly.</li>\n\t<li>Maintain cultural sensitivity, competence and client confidentiality.</li>\n\t<li>Other duties as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n\n<p><strong>Requirements and Education:</strong></p>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>Requires an Associate’s degree and one to two years of related experience, or equivalent education and experience.</li>\n\t<li>Must have a valid NYS driver’s license.</li>\n</ul>\n\n<p><strong>Benefits</strong></p>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>Health care package: medical, dental, and vision </li>\n\t<li>Tuition reimbursement </li>\n\t<li>Paid time off </li>\n\t<li>Holiday Pay </li>\n\t<li>401 (K) plan </li>\n\t<li>Life Insurance  </li>\n\t<li>Loan repayment assistance </li>\n\t<li>Free training/CEU opportunities</li>\n</ul>\n\n<h3>About Northern Rivers</h3>\n\n<p>At Northern Rivers Family of Services, we work together to make a difference in our client's lives.
