Description Statement of the job The University of Maine at Fort Kent is seeking to hire a Head Women's Volleyball Coach. This position will coach intercollegiate Women’s Volleyball, recruit as permitted by USCAA rules, conduct on-the-field teaching and coaching. This position requires frequent travel, work in the evenings, on weekends and holidays. This position will also include secondary responsibilities in Athletics to service the athletic program and the University. This will be determined by the area of departmental need and the related background of the successful candidate to service the institution in this administrative capacity. The salary for this position is $45,300.32 plus a 10% employer contribution to the UMS retirement plan. Additional benefits ( UMPSA Single Page Benefits ) include medical, dental, vision, and tuition waiver programs for employees and dependents. The UMS is a recipient of the Wellness Councils of America’s Well Workplace Award and offers wellness programs. The Head Women’s Volleyball Coach oversees the day-to-day operations of the program; specific responsibilities shall include, but not necessarily be limited to the following: Major duties (Essential Functions): Coaches intercollegiate Women’s Volleyball Collaborates with the Admissions Department and Recruiting Coordinator in recruiting student athletes Plans, arranges, and directs team practices, travel, and competitions Mentor, advise and track academic eligibility regulations for student athletes Manages the care of team equipment, uniforms and training gear Assists with transportation by driving team vehicles Work closely with Athletic Trainer for student/athletes care and prevention of injuries Arrange competitive game schedule within budget limits To represent the University at professional meetings and other special or public events. To function as a member of the University Community by accepting special and committee assignments as may be requested by supervisor, and To assist in developing alumni athletic events, community relationships, and fund-raising opportunities To collaborate with the Sports Information Director and Media Relations office in the preparation of press releases, and the arrangement of media coverage for athletic events, and ensure that the appropriate media is informed of the results of all athletic events. Of special note is the five-minute walk from the UMFK campus to the beautiful Fish River which flows into the St. John River that serves as the international boundary between Maine and New Brunswick, Canada. The University and surrounding communities also play important roles in preserving, cultivating, and celebrating the Franco-American/Acadian culture in the St. John Valley and housing one of two Acadian Archives/Archives acadiennes in the nation.&nbsp;<br>\n  &nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>About the Region</strong></p>\n<p>The surrounding town of Fort Kent is a welcoming town of approximately 4,000 people who are active in various festivals, community gatherings, and civic work. UMFK is embedded near the center of town allowing easy access to amenities and the community at large. Fort Kent, one of Maine’s northernmost towns, is the beginning of two highways: U.S. Route 1 and Route 11. The famous scenic U.S. Route 1 starts in Fort Kent and passes through the easternmost towns of Maine bordering Canada and ends up in Key West, Florida. The town also serves as a gateway to the Allagash Wilderness Waterway. From the Allagash Waterway through a forested wilderness, an adventurous canoe trip will take one down to the St. John River. Excellent alpine and cross-country skiing are additional attractions of the community. Of special note is the five-minute walk from the UMFK campus to the beautiful Fish River which flows into the St. John River that serves as the international boundary between Maine and New Brunswick, Canada.</p>\n<p><strong>How to Apply:</strong><br><br>\n  Materials must be submitted via \"Apply Now\" below.
