Through the reselling of donated items, we can provide job readiness training and employment opportunities to individuals with disabilities and barriers to employment. </em></p>\n<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p></p>\n<p><strong>POSITION SUMMARY: </strong>Operates a truck, van, roll-off or combination tractor/trailer, depending on position, primarily to deliver or pick up merchandise/donations from donation centers, Goodwill stores/facilities, businesses or private residences.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Essential Functions Statement:</strong></p>\n<li>Safeguards all donations and company property from damage and theft. Treats all donations and company property with respect and care. Assists donors when present and necessary.</li>\n<li>Reads maps, operates navigational tools (Teletrac/GPS) and follows written and verbal geographic directions.</li>\n<li>Maintains records such as Daily Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRS) and daily Trip Sheets according to all State and Federal laws and company procedures.</li>\n<li>Provides basic direction and redirection if assigned a Truck Helper.</li>\n<li>Safely operates/drives 20-26 foot bobtail trucks, completing all daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections on assigned vehicles, immediately reporting any supply needs, equipment needs/issues and any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles to Dispatch or a Transportation Management member.</li>\n<li>Safely and efficiently loads and unloads truck, vehicles, containers and trailers. Loads and unloads vehicles by hand or with the use of a hand truck, lift gate and/or pallet jack.</li>\n<li>Maintains communication with Dispatch, calling at each stop and at scheduled times throughout the day.  Appropriately uses and responds to Teletrac messages.</li>\n<li>Safely and efficiently pads, stacks, and secures items in position on the truck to prevent damage during transit.</li>\n<li>Abides by all safety procedures and policies at all times. Reports any safety concerns immediately to on-site management or immediate supervisor.</li>\n<li>Performs other miscellaneous duties as directed or assigned.</li>\n<li>Safely and efficiently operates a tractor with a trailer of up to 53 feet.</li>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>SKILLS AND ABILITIES:</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Education: High School Degree or GED preferred.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Experience: 6 months – 1 year experience driving a Class A tractor with up to a 53 foot trailer.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Computer Skills: Basic computer skills and the ability to operate GPS tracking system preferred.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Certificates & Licenses: Valid California Class A Driver’s license with air brake endorsement and driving record acceptable to Goodwill’s insurance company’s standards.</p>",
