Special Instructions to Applicants The University of Southern Mississippi invites applicants for a full-time, nine-month position as an Instructor of the School of Professional Nursing Practice to begin in August 2026. A candidate needs to submit application materials through the University of Southern Mississippi website at https://jobs.usm.edu to be considered for the position. Applicants need to submit an application letter, a current vita, evidence of teaching effectiveness, and a list of references (minimum of three). The position will be open until filled, but screening will begin on June 15, 2026. Direct questions to Dr. Maria Brown ([email protected]) Director, School of Professional Nursing Practice. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for visa sponsorship. The University will not sponsor applicants for work visas (e.g., H-1B). Job Summary This nine-month, non-tenure-track position requires teaching undergraduate courses in nursing within the College of Nursing and Health Professions for the School of Professional Nursing Practice. Participation in service activities within the school, college, and university is also required. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Teaches undergraduate courses in nursing. Teaching includes the preparation of course materials such as syllabi, course content, course assignments, and handouts; the evaluation and grading of students' class work, clinical/lab assignments, and course/clinical/lab papers; and the maintenance of student attendance records, grades, and other required records. Holding regularly scheduled office hours to assist students. Pursue opportunities for development of teaching skills and methods. Participates in serve at a variety of levels, including school, college, and university Performs other duties as assign.
