If you’re passionate about crisis assessment and patient-centered care, we want to hear from you.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Reporting to the Director of Social Work Services, the Behavioral Health ED Evaluator plays a vital role in delivering timely, high-quality behavioral health assessments within a fast-paced emergency department setting. As an integral member of the care team, this position is responsible for care coordination, and ensuring appropriate patient placement, while maintaining a patient-centered approach. This role offers the opportunity to make an immediate impact, collaborate with multidisciplinary providers, and contribute to positive patient outcomes in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Candidates must possess and maintain an active Maryland license as either a Licensed Clinical Social Worker–Clinical (LCSW-C) or a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC).</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The full-time position is <strong>36 hours per week; PRN (per diem) Behavioral Health ED Evaluator </strong>for the following shifts:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Day shift (7:00 am to 7:30 pm)</li>\n <li>Night shift (7:00 pm to 7:30 am)</li>\n <li>Must be flexible with the schedule.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Responsibilities and duties include, but not limited to the following:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Provides clinical evaluations of prospective patients determining patients’ appropriateness for the program and coordinates with attending psychiatrist</li>\n <li>Transfer/Coordination – Refers patient to outside hospitals/facilities as needed</li>\n <li>Obtains insurance authorizations</li>\n <li>Ensure accurate and timely clinical documentation</li>\n <li>Performs all other job-related duties as assigned</li>\n</ul>\n<p>#ZR</p>\n<h2>Requirements/Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Education, Experience & Skills: </strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Active Maryland license as one of the following is required:\n  <ul>\n   <li>Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-C) OR</li>\n   <li>Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) </li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Minimum of 3 years of adult psych and crisis assessment experience preferred</li>\n <li>Strong organization, initiative, and time management skills</li>\n <li>Proficient computer skills required; Cerner MedConnect experience preferred</li>\n <li>American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Salary Range:</strong></p>\n<p>$40.00 to $45.00 per hour</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>EOE</p>\n<h2>Hospital/Program Description</h2>\n<p>MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center, Clinton MD is a 182-bed facility providing over 48,000 emergency room visits annually. The Behavioral Health Program includes a 24-bed Adult inpatient unit, a Partial Hospitalization Program and a Behavioral Health section of the Emergency Department.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Southern Maryland offers the peace and comfort of a smaller community with the culture of Washington DC a short 20 minutes away. Historic homes and landmarks comprise the city's main tourism landscape and offer a glimpse into Maryland's early life. Nearby attractions include Andrews Air Force Base and Camp Springs and the National Harbor.</p>",
