    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>Provides diagnostic imaging services according to accepted standards and protocols and assures patient safety during procedures.\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2> \n<p><strong><u>General Diagnostic Procedures: </u></strong></p> \n<ul> \n <li>Performs all mammography examinations following policies and procedures established by the department.</li> \n <li>Prepares and positions patients for mammograms.</li> \n <li>Provides care and communication to patients before, during and after the procedure.</li> \n <li>Uses all equipment properly and in a manner that minimizes hazards of electric shock, burns and extraneous radiation to patients.</li> \n <li>Uses radiation safety measures and protection devices to comply with government regulations and to ensure safety of all patients and staff.</li> \n <li>Explains procedures and responds to questions appropriately.</li> \n <li>Ensures that all images are clear and of good diagnostic quality, adjusting equipment as necessary.</li> \n <li>Documents patient history, including any relevant information which might affect the interpretation of the mammogram.</li> \n <li>Maintain and cleans the mammography equipment with the appropriate solutions.</li> \n <li>Communicates any pertinent information with radiologists and other healthcare professionals as necessary.</li> \n <li>Maintains working knowledge of the PAC’s System.</li> \n <li>Maintains a clean and orderly environment.</li> \n</ul> \n<p><strong><u>Special Diagnostic Testing:</u></strong></p> \n<ul> \n <li>Demonstrates competency in performing all procedures and use of the equipment for Mammography, as appropriate and assigned.</li> \n <li>Keeps dose as low as possible to achieve diagnostic exam.</li> \n</ul> \n<p><strong><u>Administrative:</u></strong></p> \n<ul> \n <li>Uses computer to access reports, medical history, prior imaging, etc.</li> \n <li>Follows protocols for releasing of images and obtaining prior imaging studies.</li> \n <li>Assists with administrative responsibilities of the department to include scheduling appointments, answering the phone, etc.</li> \n <li>Performs all quality controls procedures weekly in the absence of the QC technologist.</li> \n <li>Maintains licensing and continuing education credits.</li> \n <li>Able to teach/aid students and new staff.</li> \n</ul> \n<h2>Qualifications</h2> \n<ul> \n <li>Graduate of a Radiology Technology training program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JCERT)</li> \n <li>Current registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent.</li> \n <li>Certification in Mammography</li> \n <li>0-1 year of experience</li> \n <li>Hospital experience preferred</li> \n</ul> \n<h2>Required Licensure/Certifications</h2>\n<strong>REQUIRED LICENSE(S):</strong> • Radiographer NH (MIRT1060) OR Radiation Therapist NH (MIRT1057) OR Medical Imaging/Rad Ther - NH (MIRT1001) \n<strong>REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS:</strong> • Radiologic Technologist - Mammography (RT - M) within 365 days",
