This profile is not intended to be all-inclusive of tasks and responsibilities required; it describes the critical responsibilities associated with this position.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Community Phone Bankers/Canvasser:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Voter Contact: Make high-volume outbound calls (or, in some cases, peer-to-peer texts) to registered voters using a provided script and platform.</span></li>\n<li><span>Data Collection: Accurately record and input voter responses, demographic information, and key data points into the campaign database.</span></li>\n<li><span>Education: Effectively deliver campaign messaging, articulate the organization's platform, and address common questions or concerns of the voter.</span></li>\n<li><span>Mobilization: Identify and recruit committed supporters to take action.</span></li>\n<li><span>Compliance: Adhere strictly to campaign guidelines, calling scripts, and all relevant calling regulations.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Community Door-Knocking Canvassers:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Voter Contact: In-person door-knocking in targeted neighborhoods in Montgomery County to talk to voters about economic and social disparities happening in their communities</span></li>\n<li>Data Collection: Correctly and completely tracking data from the conversations we have on the doors</li>\n<li><span>Education: Engaging community members in conversation about the issues impacting them and their families</span></li>\n<li>Mobilization: Build relationships and organize diverse communities</li>\n<li><span>Community: Sharing personal stories about key topics to connect with the experiences of those we talk to</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Experiences &amp; Skill Requirements:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Alignment with TEA's mission and values</span></li>\n<li><span>Prior canvassing and/or phone banking experience, paid or as a volunteer, preferred</span></li>\n<li><span>Must be able to walk/stand for long periods of time (when canvassing)</span></li>\n<li><span>Must be able to learn and effectively communicate talking points about key issues</span></li>\n<li><span>COVID-19 vaccinations are preferred</span></li>\n<li><span> Valid driver's license and reliable transportation as a door-knocking canvasser <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">(Required)</span></span></li>\n<li><span>Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to canvass on the doors and 16 years of age or older to phonebank</span><br></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>The canvasser will need a deep understanding of community dynamics in targeted Black neighborhoods.</p>\n<p>The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to foster coordination and cooperation among diverse groups and will be committed to getting results in a fast-paced environment.</p>\n<ul></ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Contract Length:</span> </span></p>\n<ul></ul>\n<p>This is a part-time, as-needed position. A<span> </span><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">mandatory</span><span> </span>virtual orientation and onboarding are required to begin work.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Compensation: <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Canvassers' starting pay is $20 per hour, with an increase of $35 per hour with a required 10-hour weekly minimum. </span>This opportunity will be available throughout the campaign. <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Phone bankers will be paid $20  per hour.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Canvassing and phone banking days and hours are <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Monday - Saturday, between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM CST</span>, as that is when people are home.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>People of color, gender-oppressed people, working-class people, LGBTQ people, and immigrants are encouraged to apply.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, so individuals are encouraged to apply sooner rather than later.
