Description

Job Scope: This position requires loading and unloading trailers, securing the contents of those trailers, driving them to a specified location, and working flexible hours. Individual must know DOT rules and regulations and complete the required paperwork in a timely way. Essential Duties: · Perform pre- and post-shift inspections · Load trailer for transport and unload trailer after transport · Secure trailer and the contents inside of it · Drive truck to specified locations in a safe and efficient way · Read and understand State permit processes · Maintain a chain of communication with the Logistics Administrator and the customer when needed · Complete proper paperwork in a timely manner Secondary Duties: · Maintain a safe and clean overall work environment · Perform other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: · Ability to travel for one to three nights at a time · Excellent interpersonal skills · Up-to-date knowledge of DOT rules and regulation Education Requirements: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent years of experience Class “A” CDL Double, Triple, or Hazmat endorsements preferred Experience Requirements: Three years of truck driving experience preferred Physical Requirements: Individual must be prepared for: Reaching - 15% of shift Bending - 20% of shift Pushing - 15% of shift Pulling - 15% of shift Climbing - 10% of shift Sitting - 85% of shift Overhead work - 5% of shift Standing - 15% of shift Walking - 15% of shift Lifting up to 50 pounds - 20% of shift Employee must perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation. The company will provide reasonable accommodation to a qualified individual with a disability, as defined by the ADA, who has made the company aware of his or her disability, provided that such accommodation does not constitute an undue hardship on the company. Other Requirements: · Pass a pre-employment drug screen and pre-employment physical Work Environment: Work takes place in a climate controlled truck or outside, subject to weather. The volume is moderate. Individual may be exposed to hot or cold temperatures. Career Ladder: This position could lead to advancement to Logistics Administrator. Safety: Promote a Healthy and Safe Culture Empower employees to make the workplace safe Establish employee ownership for safe behavior and awareness Plan safety into all tasks Learn from unsafe experiences to prevent future accidents Performance Standards: The criteria for evaluation in this position include, but are not limited to, the following: 1. Accomplishment of professional development goals as established in the employee performance evaluation 3. Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills in building and maintaining levels of trust and respect 4.
