    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p>Powell is a manufacturer of switchgear and other electrical equipment. We are currently hiring a Production Worker at our Southeast Houston manufacturing facility. Employee assists Painters, Machine Operators, Welders, Material Handlers, and Leadperson in performance of their work. Employee works under close supervision. Schedule: Monday-Thursday 4:00am-2:30pm; OT as needed</p><p><strong>Essential Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Load unpainted metal parts onto the Paint Line.</li><li>Load copper bars and pipe onto the Bus Insulation Line Conveyor.</li><li>Unload painted metal parts from the Paint Line and properly attach the required part identification label.</li><li>Assist with daily and weekly preventative maintenance of the Paint Line &amp; Bus Insulation Line equipment and facilities.</li><li>Move parts from one manufacturing operation to the next operation according to the part routing.</li><li>Remove finished parts from sheet metal skeletons.</li><li>Sort and stack parts by part number &amp; job number combination.</li><li>Assemble kits of parts to be welded.</li><li>Assist machine operators with various tasks upon request.</li><li>On occasion, be required to perform labor task such as painting, grinding, sanding or general cleaning task as directed by your supervisor or leadperson.</li><li>Lifting of up to 50 lbs. consistently.</li><li>End of shift cleanup is required.</li></ul><p><strong>Minimum Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>High School Diploma or General Education Diploma preferred.</li><li>Ability to use computer software to control equipment or look-up company information.</li><li>Ability to use basic math, reading and writing skills to perform job function.</li></ul><p><strong>Skills, Abilities &amp; Other Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>Must have a basic command of the English language, both written and verbal.</li><li>Ability to follow company operating procedures, safety rules and ISO requirements.</li><li>Ability to learn to read mechanical part or assembly drawings.</li><li>Ability to read and use a linear tape measure.</li><li>Ability to work independently or part of a small team and perform required tasks with little direct supervision.</li><li>Ability to maintain a clean work area by picking up trash and sweeping the floor.</li></ul><p><strong>Working Conditions</strong></p><ul><li>Safety sensitive position in a temperature-controlled manufacturing or industrial environment with occasional outside activities.</li><li>Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) (i.e., safety shoes, hard hats, bump caps, safety glasses, hearing protection, safety harnesses as required) and respirators when required.</li><li>Must be able to work from all type of ladders (step ladders, \"A\" frame ladders, etc.)</li><li>Working at heights usually no higher than 20 feet in the air on an elevated structure using proper lift equipment and Fall Protection Equipment.</li></ul><p><strong>Physical Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>Able to maintain body equilibrium and agility to prevent falling when walking, standing, crouching, ascending or descending stairs or step ladders.</li><li>Bending the body at the waist, the legs at the knees, and extending arms and hands in any direction.</li><li>Continuous standing and walking.</li><li>Able to use upper extremities frequently, work with both arms above shoulders and use both arms at full length frequently.</li><li>Must be able to meet physical lifting demand up to 50lbs..</li></ul>",
