    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><strong><u>Solar Operations Technician – Millers Branch Solar Facility – Haskell, TX</u></strong></p>\n<p>We are currently seeking Solar Operations Technicians for our Millers Branch Solar Facility in Haskell, TX. This facility is currently under construction in 3 phases which will be completed in 2025 and 2026 for a grand total of 512 MW on approximately 4,700 acres. Equipment includes SMA 4200 UP-US inverters, Canadian Solar Bi-facial modules, and Nextracker NX Horizon racking and trackers system.</p>\n<p><strong>JOB SUMMARY</strong></p>\n<p>Want an innovative challenge? We are seeking strong technical individuals for Solar Operations Technician positions for the Southern Power&nbsp;Millers Branch Solar Facility in Haskell, TX. The responsibilities include operating and maintaining utility scale solar photovoltaic electric systems as well as monitoring, troubleshooting, and repairing the plant's electrical and mechanical equipment and various other duties. In addition, the successful candidates will maintain plant maintenance records in the computer-based work order system, Maximo®, and participate in the plant system owner program. The candidate will need to have the willingness to serve on any Operations Review Board (ORB) action teams when required. Shift work required, including nights. This position will be filled at a level commensurate with experience.</p>\n<p><strong>JOB REQUIREMENTS:&nbsp;(Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills)</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>HS Graduate or Equivalent.</li>\n <li>2-year College/Technical Degree or equivalent relevant work experience required</li>\n <li>Electrical background is highly preferred.</li>\n <li>Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude and a demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical equipment are required.</li>\n <li>Solar Utility Scale Inverter maintenance experience preferred (i.e. Advanced Energy, TMEIC).</li>\n <li>Strong technical background in electrical and electronic devices and equipment</li>\n <li>Instrumentation experience is a plus; PV and/or experience with inverters is desired.</li>\n <li>Must be a self-starter with the ability to work with little to no direction as well as possess an ability to follow directions when required.</li>\n <li>Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.</li>\n <li>Ability to apply principle of logical thinking and deal with situations that will be encountered.</li>\n <li>Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are required.</li>\n <li>Must be able to learn how to independently operate a solar plant and communicate effectively with plant stakeholders.</li>\n <li>Ability to perform physically demanding activities (i.e. climbing stairs and ladders, lifting heavy equipment) while working safely in all types of weather.</li>\n <li>Must be able to pass the EEI TECH test (study materials below). \n  <ul>\n   <li>If you have passed the test previously with another utility, we may be able to transfer your score.</li>\n   <li>If you have passed the test with Southern Company previously, we should be able to retrieve your score.&nbsp;</li>\n  </ul></li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong><u>Practice Test</u></strong></p>\n<p>Many of our tests have practice tests available; there is one available for the&nbsp;TECH&nbsp;test.</p>\n<p>Logon to:&nbsp;<a href=\"https://eeitests.org/onlineproducts/signin?token=233343b7b6244a829f2ee2fb914fa848\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">https://eeitests.org/onlineproducts/signin?token=233343b7b6244a829f2ee2fb914fa848</a></p>\n<p>Use the following information to log into the site to access the practice test:</p>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Name:&nbsp;</strong><i><strong>southern</strong></i></li>\n <li><strong>Password:&nbsp;</strong><i><strong>testing</strong></i></li>\n</ul>\n<p>Practice tests:&nbsp;TECH - Technician Occupations</p>",
