    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Position Overview</span></p>\n<p>Plan and prepare meals with help of Senior Meals Cook for SVT Elder Meals Program, Seldovia Conference Center and catering.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Work schedule at this time it would be 1pm-6pm Tuesday – Fridays with an expected increase in hours in the summer months for camps, picnics, catering and other events.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Duties and Responsibilities</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Create, plan and prepare menus and meals</li>\n<li>Research and devise food recipes</li>\n<li>Estimate expected food consumption and order/prepare accordingly</li>\n<li>Maintain inventory of supplies</li>\n<li>Cleans and maintains food preparation areas as determined by law and SVT Policy</li>\n<li>Support SVT Elder Meal, Conference Center Programs, and catering</li>\n<li>Set up tables and dinner settings</li>\n<li>Set up beverage table and make coffee</li>\n<li>Launder tablecloths and soiled linens after each meal.</li>\n<li>Maintain professional atmosphere for Elders and guests</li>\n<li>Other duties as assigned</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Specifications</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">2 or more years experience as a cook preferred</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Knowledge of various cooking methods such as grilling, baking, boiling, etc. required</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Ability to follow sanitation procedures required</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Ability to work as a member of a team required</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Organizational skills required</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Verbal and written communication skills including proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Culinary creativity a plus!</span><br></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Job Requirements</span><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Education: High School Diploma or GED, preferred but not required.  Culinary arts education a plus.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Certifications: Current Food Handler Certificate, CPR/First Aid. Both provided by SVT</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Other: Basic Computer keyboard knowledge. Annual TB testing; must be able to pass background check and drug screen. Must be cheerful and have an ability and desire to work with senior citizens in a team environment.</span></p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Physical Demands:</span></p>\n<p>This job requires the ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – Protective rubber or latex work gloves. This job requires the sense of smell and the sense of taste.</p>\n<p><br>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to use hands to handle or feel items. They are required to stand almost constantly, walk and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus. This position regularly requires the individual to lift objects weighing up to 50lbs without assistance.  Employee will be required to kneel or squat to reach areas of storage in the Kitchen.</p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Work Environment</span></p>\n<p>Seldovia Village Tribe is a drug free, smoke free and alcohol free workplace.
