Description

Overview Develops online learning modules, instructor-led training materials and other learning content in collaboration with PMO, Marketing, and the Instructional Design team. The Instructional Designer will use interpersonal, written and visual communication skills and partner with Subject Matter Experts to create learning content. *This position can be based in Orlando, St. Petersburg, or Ft. Lauderdale* Responsibilities The list of essential functions, as outlined herein, is intended to be representative of the duties and responsibilities performed within this classification. It is not necessarily descriptive of any one position in the class. The omission of an essential function does not preclude management from assigning duties not listed herein if such functions are a logical assignment to the position. Partners with business stakeholders to understand program goals and defines the learning solution that will make their programs successful Applies tested instructional design theories, practices and methods Synthesizes and writes course content based on input from subject matter experts, written material, previous training content, etc. Creates focused training content that engages our learners through a variety of learning concepts and modalities along with learning tools, performance support aids, practice tests, online tutorials, and other materials to meet identified needs Designs and develops tests, quizzes, and other assessments to ensure learner understanding and performance Develops multimedia content in conjunction with marketing studio to produce high quality videos to be used in various scenarios for the business Maintains project documentation and course folders along with communication Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Human Resources, or a related field from an accredited college or university and one year of experience in a training environment or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND DESIGNATIONS: ATD Instructional Design Certification preferred. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to analyze, research and apply problem-solving skills – identifies and defines problems, collects data, establishes facts, and draws logical and valid conclusions Ability to organize work for timely completion Ability to follow complex oral and written instructions Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing Ability to work with minimal supervision Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work Ability to travel up to 10% of the time Ability to commute with personal transportation Knowledge of adult learning theories and training methodologies Experience in design and delivery of training solutions to organizations through learning technologies and online authoring tools Solid project management skills including planning work, managing details, keeping multiple tasks/projects on track, using time well, working with stakeholders, and doing whatever it takes to deliver reliable results Experience working with complex content and designing training for e-Learning modules PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (up to 20 pounds). ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee may encounter while performing the essential functions of this job. Functions are regularly performed inside with potential for exposure to adverse conditions, such as inclement weather, atmospheric elements and pathogenic substances.
