To teach floating and basic<br />\r\nmechanics and work to help campers feel comfortable and safe in the water.</p>\r\n\r\n<p><strong>GENERAL DUTIES:</strong></p>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>Responsible for preventing, identifying and responding to accidents/incidents.</li>\r\n\t<li>Responsible for ensuring the safety of all swimmers while enforcing pool policies, rules, and regulations.</li>\r\n\t<li>Administers and responds to emergencies and administer care.</li>\r\n\t<li>Maintains active surveillance of the waterfront area.</li>\r\n\t<li>Performs general maintenance in and around the waterfront area.</li>\r\n\t<li>Assist Camp Coordinator/Staff with any pool related responsibilities as needed included but not limited to camper swim&nbsp;assessments.</li>\r\n\t<li>Follow all policies and procedures while guarding all swimmers and patrons.</li>\r\n\t<li>Follow all health, safety and regulatory compliance rules and requirements.</li>\r\n\t<li>Communicate to Camp Coordinator and Assistant Camp Coordinator any supply needs.</li>\r\n\t<li>Attend all assigned training and in-service sessions.</li>\r\n\t<li>Lifeguard, CPR/AED, First Aid, and Oxygen certification.</li>\r\n\t<li>Exceptional swimming skills and understanding of the fundamental swimming strokes (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and&nbsp;butterfly).</li>\r\n\t<li>Demonstrate swimming ability.</li>\r\n\t<li>Maintain positive relationships with campers and other camp staff.</li>\r\n\t<li>Prepare and provide reports as required.</li>\r\n\t<li>Reports all accidents and incidents and any suspected or known child abuse, neglect or endangerment to authorities.</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n\r\n<p><strong>SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL LEADERSHIP COMPETENCIES:</strong></p>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li><strong>Self-Awareness:</strong> Ability to fully understand the impact emotions have on performance, assessment of strengths and&nbsp;weaknesses, relationships, and others.
