Innovators in our field, we lead the way in exploring new concepts, approaches, processes, materials and components.</p>\n<p></p>\n<p>Join us to do the best work of your career and make a profound social impact as a<b> Principal Engineer </b>on our<b> Hardware Engineering </b>Team in<b> Hopkinton, Massachusetts or Austin, Texas.</b></p>\n<p></p>\n<p><b>What you’ll achieve</b></p>\n<p>As a <b>Principal Hardware Engineer</b>, you’ll deliver enterprise class hardware, made up of a wide range of cutting-edge technologies, to dozens of product lines and thousands of customers. You’ll be exposed to all aspects of hardware and systems engineering working closely with firmware, mechanical, power and thermal engineers. You’ll work in a fast-paced environment with a team of highly skilled engineers providing both support and guidance. It is a team fueled by collaboration and a company deeply committed to integrity and responsibility.</p>\n<p></p>\n<p><b>You will:</b></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Author and coordinate the creation of design guides and specifications for new designs as well as drive architectural direction for next generation devices/platforms and ensure feasibility of concepts for these products</li>\n <li>Work closely with Original Design Manufacturer (ODM)/Joint Design Manufacturer (JDM) partner to execute a design against the specified architecture, review the design and validation results</li>\n <li>Set standards and determine design targets for the product (cost, performance, reliability, etc.) are feasible through proper design choices, component selection and/or supplier selection</li>\n <li>Collaborate across all disciplines (hardware, software, mechanical, manufacturing, procurement, etc.) to ensure product requirements are being implemented to meet program goals</li>\n <li>Possess excellent communication skills to discuss requirements and provide technology updates to multiple Dell Technologies product groups and development teams</li>\n</ul>\n<p></p>\n<p><b><span>Essential Requirements:</span></b></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Proficiency in hardware design, analysis and debugging of complex printed circuit boards along with an understanding of the power, mechanical and thermal infrastructure around them</li>\n <li>Experience in computer architecture and designing with high-speed Interfaces such as Peripheral Component Interconnect Express (PCIe), Double Data Rate (DDR) and Ethernet</li>\n <li>Strong background in electrical or computer engineering and a solid understanding of server architecture</li>\n <li>Experience leading cross-functional engineering teams</li>\n</ul>\n<p></p>\n<p><b>Desirable Requirements:</b></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Typically requires 8+ years of related experience in a professional role with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6+ years with a Master’s degree; or 3+ years with a PhD; or equivalent experience</li>\n <li>BS or MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering</li>\n</ul>\n<p></p>\n<p><b>Compensation</b></p>\n<p>Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.
