    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><strong>SUMMARY</strong></p><p>Ajax Building Company is looking for a hands-on construction leader who thrives in the field and takes pride in delivering exceptional projects. As Superintendent, you will lead day-to-day field operations, manage craft and subcontractor teams, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and to the high standards our clients expect.</p><p style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">&nbsp;</p><p style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\"><strong>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">Hire, train, evaluate and terminate craft personnel, following established company policies, procedures, and practices.</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">Supervise craft personnel and other contractors to ensure project is constructed by design, within budget and on schedule.</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">Assist project management with drawing interpretations and recommend construction methods and equipment.</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">Ensure all personnel comply with safety and working procedures.</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">Assume responsibility for productivity of project.</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">Promote a safe work environment.</li></ul><p style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">&nbsp;</p><p style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\"><strong>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES&nbsp;</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">Supervise total construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule.&nbsp; Includes interfacing with client representatives and other contractors.</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">Plan, coordinate and supervise on-site functions.</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">Supervise craft employees and other contractors as required by the contract.</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">May authorize and approve all project personnel transactions, purchase requisitions, field design change requests, etc.</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">Provide technical assistance, interpret drawings, and recommend construction methods and equipment as required.</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">Assist project management in developing and implementing project procedures, working documents, standards.</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">Ensure all on-site personnel comply with project procedures, safety program requirements, work rules, etc.&nbsp; Document all violations; notify project management, recommend/implement corrective actions as required.</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">Work closely with the Safety Director to create a constant awareness including rigid enforcement of the requirements of Ajax Building Company’s Safety Policy.</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">Assume responsibility for productivity of crafts, efficient use of materials &amp; equipment, and contractual performance of the project.</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">Perform and/or supervise building layout and field engineering.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\"><strong>QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">8-10+ years of supervisory experience in the construction field.</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">Preferred:&nbsp;Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field.</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">Excellent communication, organizational and supervisory skills</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, and methods).</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">Thorough knowledge of all safety requirements.</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">The ability to motivate employees and handle any situation that occurs on the project.</li></ul><p style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\"><br><strong>Physical Requirements:</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">Must be able to see well (either naturally or with correction).</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">Coordinate the movements of eyes, hands, and fingers with full use of hands, arms and fingers.</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">Climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffolding.</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl or work at any height.</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">Lift and carry objects weighting up to 50 pounds and occasionally more.<br>&nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong>ABOUT AJAX</strong></p><p>Ajax Building Company delivers complex, high-impact construction projects across the Southeast.
