We are especially interested in and give preference to candidates who demonstrate a vision to create and nurture initiatives that will advance our mission within the scope of their duties and who will foster a culture of dialogue that, with respect for all people, supports the search for meaning and purpose in pursuit of excellence.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Job Summary</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Job responsibilities:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Serve as assistant coach for NCAA Division III intercollegiate women’s hockey program.</li>\n <li>Travel to regional and national recruiting events, identifying and prospecting potential recruits for women’s hockey program.</li>\n <li>Perform essential coaching duties including, but not limited to\n  <ul>\n   <li>on-ice coaching</li>\n   <li>skill development</li>\n   <li>scouting of opponents</li>\n   <li>practice planning</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Video work </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Coordinate office tasks such as mailings, e-mail communication, visit correspondence, travel scheduling, equipment inventory, budget oversight, social media, etc.</li>\n <li>Oversee, direct and supervise part-time staff and student-workers as needed.</li>\n <li>Support, respect, and advance the mission of Saint Mary’s University as a Lasallian Catholic institution.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Salary Range:</strong> $31,000 </p>\n<p><strong>Main Duties & Responsibilities</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Essential Skills and Functions:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Have strong communication skills and be able to work in a dynamic work environment.</li>\n <li>Have a strong passion for the profession and be a positive team member on our staff.</li>\n <li>Be willing to work flexible hours to include evenings and weekends; travel with team.</li>\n <li>Have exemplary ethical conduct and a commitment to follow all applicable NCAA Division III and Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference rules and regulations.</li>\n <li>Be able to work independently on multiple projects.</li>\n <li>Be forward-thinking and have effective problem-solving skills.</li>\n <li>Be able to interact with a large range of personalities and value sets.</li>\n <li>Have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues, students, recruits and other stakeholders.</li>\n <li>Observes safety guidelines and follows safety procedures established by the university.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Experience and Education Requirements</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Required Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s Degree, required.</li>\n <li>Master’s Degree, preferred.</li>\n <li>1-3 years of experience coaching women’s hockey in a high school or college setting.</li>\n <li>May consider other acceptable equivalent combinations of training and experience. </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree required.</li>\n <li>Master’s degree preferred.</li>\n <li>1-3 years of experience coaching women’s hockey in a high school or college setting.</li>\n <li>May consider other acceptable equivalent combinations of training and experience.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Physical Demands</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Light work.</strong> Light work involves lifting no more than 20 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds. Even though the weight lifted may be very little, a job is in this category when it requires a good deal of walking or standing, or when it involves sitting most of the time with some pushing and pulling of arm or leg controls.
