    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>rhi is recruiting for a Data Modelling Analyst to join our client based in Houston, TX, on a contract basis.</p>\n<p>This is a hybrid position, with 4 days based in the office and 1 day wfh.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>This role would be working alongside Gas and Power Trading Americas Fundamental Modelling and Innovation Team. </p>\n<p>This role provides the opportunity to work closely with analysts and strategists across north American region and commodity lines to design and build scalable solutions to business-critical problems in a fast-paced, data-rich trading environment.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The team is seeking a <strong>data science professional</strong> with strong capabilities in:</p>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Data engineering and data modeling</strong></li>\n <li><strong>Hands-on Python programming</strong></li>\n <ul>\n  <li>Proficiency in <strong>Pandas</strong> is essential</li>\n </ul>\n <li><strong>Machine learning concepts</strong></li>\n <li>Ability to work with <strong>large datasets</strong></li>\n <li>Strong understanding of: </li>\n <ul>\n  <li>Modeling best practices</li>\n  <li>Error analysis</li>\n </ul>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>About you:</strong></p>\n<p>Essential Experience:</p>\n<ul>\n <li> Undergraduate degree in STEM subject or quantitative discipline.</li>\n <li> 3-5 years hands-on experience working with machine learning models and regressions. </li>\n <li>Must have excellent <strong>python</strong> skills with a robust understanding of core data science packages (e.g., <strong>pandas</strong>, numpy, sklearn, etc.).</li>\n <li> Experience manipulating and analyzing large, complex datasets.</li>\n <li> Strong attention to detail.</li>\n <li> Excellent problem-solving skills.</li>\n <li> Track record of working with traders or other business stakeholders to create commercially actionable models.</li>\n <li> Independent, creative thinker that can find alternative solutions to complex problems.</li>\n <li> Desire to continually improve with a passion to innovate and the ability to develop new analytical methodologies.</li>\n <li> Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, dynamic trading environment.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Desirable Experience & Skills: </p>\n<ul>\n <li> Knowledge of US or North American energy markets (e.g., low-carbon, oil, gas, LNG, or power).</li>\n <li> Understanding of supply and demand drivers together with how physical and related financial instruments are traded.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>About rhi</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>rhi is a professional services provider with global expertise.
