Position Summary Overview: Title: Practice Manager Site: Digestive Health Institute Location: St. Petersburg FL Schedule: Mon-Fri 8am-4:30pm Reports To: Operations Manager The Practice Manager manages, directs and coordinates ambulatory/physician office operations to provide cost-effective, quality patient care service. This is a critical position requiring autonomous work and leadership experience, as this is the only GI practice in the Pinellas county market. It will lead 15+ team members and support 8+ Physicians/APPs. Prior Practice Ops experience is highly desirable. There is overlap and coordination with Bayfront Hospital and their inpatient population, so the leader must be able to communicate with hospital leadership as needed. About the organization: The Florida Medical Clinic Orlando Health Digestive Health Institute offers an expansive scope of services to care for patients facing conditions affecting the digestive tract and gastrointestinal organs. Led by world-renowned physicians, our highly skilled clinical team utilizes advanced technologies and procedures to ensure effective care options and successful outcomes. Our care extends from general digestive disorders to complex gastrointestinal diseases and encompasses lifestyle modification, medication and surgical approaches, including advanced endoscopic procedures that combine sophisticated diagnostic techniques with intricate minimally invasive therapies to evaluate and treat various digestive disorders. Responsibilities Essential Functions: Oversees a minimum of three practice sites, three billing providers, or an FTE count that exceeds ten employees Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with physicians, employees, policy making bodies, third party payers, patients and the public. Organizes work, meets all required deadlines, delegates assignments and achieves goals and objectives. Develops and initiates, in conjunction with physicians and Orlando Health Physician Group leadership strategies for growth and development. Keeps Chief Operations Officer, Director of Operations, or Operations Manager informed of practice issues that impact patients, physicians and staff. Provides direction and leadership to all office staff. Participates in development and monitoring of budget including monthly budget monitoring and reporting of variances to senior leadership with plans to address variances. Facilitates monthly business review meetings with physicians and practice nursing leadership and develops action plans to improve operational and financial performance. Participates in conducting reimbursement analysis, including pay analysis, fee schedule analysis and revenue projections. Works closely with the office staff and billing service to monitor reimbursement. Continuous professional growth and development through educational programs, lectures, etc. Manages various personnel functions including hiring, work assignments, orientation, ongoing training, standards of performance, coaching plans, and disciplinary actions. Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards. Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures. Other Related Functions: Participates in Quality Improvement activities as assigned. Knowledge of the organization, purposes, and policies of the community’s health systems sufficient to interact with other health care providers. Utilizes computer programs and applications to include significant report writing, medical manager, word-processing, spreadsheets, database and general accounting. Requires knowledge of government regulations and compliance requirements. Must have knowledge of fiscal, human resources and employee development to ensure organization productivity. Establishes and maintains quality control standards. Qualifications Education/Training: One of the following: Associate’s degree in a healthcare, business or related field; OR Three (3) years of progressive healthcare experience in a lead role or equivalent (in addition to the years required in the Experience section) Experience: Three (3) years of progressive healthcare experience, including autonomous work and leadership experience. Prior Practice Operations with an outpatient specialty clinic highly desired. G.I. background / Prior G.I. experience desirable/a plus. An additional three (3) years of experience in a lead role may substitute for requirements in the Educational section.
