    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">NOW HIRING</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Supervisor / Driver - Ice Arena </span></p>\n<p>Arena supervisors are responsible for those tasks necessary to supervise and oversee daily operations. Along with maintenance and guard staff, the arena supervisor works to maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and safety throughout all areas, inside and outside, of the building. The arena supervisor performs and supervises routine custodial and general maintenance services. He/she operates the ice resurfacer and related preparations to keep the ice clean, safe, and on schedule. While on duty, the supervisor will also follow cash control and closing procedures and other tasks as assigned.</p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">INCENTIVES</span><span><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">: </span></span></p>\n<p><span>Part time employees receive 25% off general programs with the exception of PDNA, contracted, trips and private lessons. In order to encourage a healthy lifestyle for our staff members, the Park District provides all staff with the opportunity to use our fitness facilities at the Community Pavilion and the Racquet, Fitness and Gymnastics Center free of charge.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">ABOUT US: </span></p>\n<p><span>The Oak Lawn Park District, incorporated in 1944, has a long and proud history of serving the recreational needs of our 56,000 residents with a myriad of recreational programs and services. We operate under the state tax cap as a municipal corporation, meaning we are our own taxing body. Overseen by a Board of five elected officials, the District manages a combination of 34 parks and facilities which cover over 280 acres. In addition, we manage a Special Recreation Cooperative that offers recreational programs and services to individuals with disabilities in 9 municipalities.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span>*The Oak Lawn Park District is an equal opportunity employer. Those applicants requiring accommodations to the application and/or interview process should contact a representative of the Personnel Department.</span></p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">QUALIFICATIONS</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must be 18 years of age</li>\n<li>Leadership ability</li>\n<li>Communication Skills</li>\n<li>Problems solving skills</li>\n<li>Knowledge of facility operations and rules is desired</li>\n<li>Customer focus and relationship building<br></li>\n<li>Valid Illinois Drivers License</li>\n<li>Must be able to work independently with little or no supervision</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR:</span> Ice Arena Facility Supervisor</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Opens, closes or works middle shifts</li>\n<li>Performs shift-specific inspections of the entire facility</li>\n<li>Checks compressors and all mechanical systems hourly</li>\n<li>Monitors ice thickness and quality while resurfacing</li>\n<li>Accepts rental and contract payments as needed</li>\n<li>Monitors all on and off-ice activities throughout the building</li>\n<li>Practices good customer service at all times</li>\n<li>Monitors and cleans all bathrooms, locker rooms, seating areas, activity rooms, and employees areas</li>\n<li>Operates machinery including the ice resurfacing machine and floor scrubber</li>\n<li>Monitors, reports, and corrects all safety hazards for both patrons and employees</li>\n<li>Supervises part time skate guard staff</li>\n<li>Reports in writing to Ice Arena General Manager and Ice Arena Facility Supervisor all problems or potential problems</li>\n<li>Follows all Oak Lawn Park District Cash Control procedures</li>\n<li>Rule enforcement</li>\n<li>Knowledge of First Aid and CPR</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">MARGINAL FUNCTIONS</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sharpens rental and patrons skates as needed</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Assist with maintenance and general cleaning in all public and common areas</span> </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist with other Ice Arena Special events as needed</li>\n<li>Attend staff trainings as required</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">PHYSICAL CONSIDERATIONS:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>To work alone and unsupervised during extended portions of shifts</li>\n<li>To work longer shifts when designated, if the need arises</li>\n<li>To lift 20 pounds or more</li>\n<li>To set up tables and chairs and other equipment as needed</li>\n<li>To work with a variety of cleaning products and chemicals safely</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">PSYCHOLOGICAL CONSIDERATIONS:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>To work alone on any shift as the occasion arises</li>\n<li>To work very early in the morning or very late at night</li>\n<li>To work a varied schedule as required</li>\n<li>To have the ability to work with staff and patrons in a relaxed and friendly manner</li>\n<li>Ability to use good judgment in the absence of supervision</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">ENVIRONMENTAL CONSIDERATIONS:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Employee works in a changing environment ranging from lobby temperatures to on-ice conditions with colder temperatures and changing humidity levels.</li>\n<li>Employee will be exposed to chemicals and fumes and will need to action to properly control these</li>\n<li>Employee must be able to work indoors and outdoors on occasion in all weather conditions</li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">May be required to walk on the ice</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">COGNITIVE CONSIDERATIONS:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Employee must have the ability to follow and give directions</li>\n<li>Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing</li>\n<li>Employee must possess time management and organization skills to effectively perform his/her job</li>\n<li>Employee must have ability to make judgments with respect to confidentiality of information and problem solving</li>\n<li>Employee must use good safety awareness and judgment in all aspects of this position</li>\n<li>Employee must be able to work effectively with management and co-workers</li>\n<li>Employee must be aware of and follow all Park District and Arena policies</li>\n<li>Employee must react well during emergency situations</li>\n</ul>",
