Description

We are ERock! ERock is a leader and innovator of Electrical Resiliency-As-A-Service. Our advanced dual-purpose microgrids protect companies, critical infrastructure, and communities from unexpected power outages, ensuring business continuity and civic durability. ERock’s dual-purpose microgrids use natural gas and renewable natural gas (RNG) to drive the nation’s most dependable microgrids — all while producing significantly lower to zero carbon emissions than traditional diesel backup generators. Powered by GraniteEcosystem™, our revolutionary software system, ERock solutions provide 24/7/365 monitoring, optimization, and forecasts to enable worry-free, reliable power for businesses. The ERock solution brings together patented technologies, advanced dual-purpose microgrid designs and integrated end-to-end services. The Power is On and we keep it on. What you’ll do… We are looking to hire a detailed-oriented, driven, and resourceful electrical engineer to assume Design Engineering responsibilities for multiple (microgrid reliability as a service) Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of performing project and electrical engineering work - mechanical engineering experience is a plus. The position will report to the Director of Microgrid Engineering and will work a hybrid schedule based out of our headquarters in downtown Houston, TX. Key Responsibilities: Project Engineering Coordination: Coordinate technical aspects of the project. Coordinate with electric utility companies for distributed generation service request and commissioning for the assigned projects. Coordinate with clients, vendors, stakeholders, and other disciplines in support of project completion. Assist the Project team in meeting project goals including, but not limited to schedule, budget, safety, and overall quality. Assist / guide Designers and junior Engineers in technical aspects of their work. Identify, analyze, and manage technical risk on projects under direction of the Project Manager. Provide engineering support, as needed, during the sales phase of the projects. Conduct condition assessments of existing electrical systems. Conduct site visits as necessary. Project Design Packages and Applications: Prepare, check and review detailed point-to-point project design packages for scope, completeness, constructability and quality. Ability to create Project Design Packages including but not limited to one-line & layout drawings, electrical schematics, bills of material, and procedures (in accordance with applicable codes) with minimal supervision. Create/Review equipment and material (i.e. switchgear, transformers, wire/cables, etc.) technical specifications for procurement and ensure they meet/exceed compliance with all project requirements and applicable codes. Prepare Interconnect applications. Supervise, review, and approve the work of third-party engineers and designers. Create and maintain project specific documentation prior to, during, and following completion of the projects. Create as-built design drawings. Power System Studies: Demonstrate the ability to do AutoCAD drawings and Power System modeling on ETAP. Perform Load Flow, Short Circuit, Protection Coordination and Arc Flash studies. Create relay protection setting .rdb files.
