Learn more about our amazing facility at https://www.lecontemedicalcenter.com/about-leconte-medical-center/. </p>\n<p>d Nurse, Nurse </p>\n<p><strong>Critical Care Unit</strong></p>\n<p>The Critical Care Unit at LeConte Medical Center is comprised of an 8-bed ICU wing and 8 bed IMC (step-down) wing.  With small nurse to patient ratios, our staff is able to give our critically ill patients the best possible care. The staff strives to create a warm and welcoming team environment that cultivates healing for the patients and their families, and each other.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Position Summary:</strong><em> </em></p>\n<p>Provides professional nursing care within an assigned unit; coordinates care planning with other disciplines.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li> Correlates patient history and support systems within hospital care/nursing home care.</li>\n <li> Assesses needs of patient and family.</li>\n <li> Develops and initiates plan of care, involving patient and family.</li>\n <li> Recommends interventions.</li>\n <li> Evaluates plan of care.</li>\n <li> Clinical expertise and knowledge is such that individual can resolve complex patient/management/physician problems without supervision.</li>\n <li> Demonstrates competence in performing critical skills to include appropriate delivery of care according to the age-specific needs of the population served.</li>\n <li> Leads process improvement initiatives in their own unit or participate in facility team.</li>\n <li> Precepts new employees/students or attends formal preceptor workshop and is willing to precept. Reviews clinical performance of preceptee with unit leader or clinical instructor.</li>\n <li> Provides four contact hours of educational activities, excluding basic patient education.</li>\n <li> Contributes to development and evaluation of unit orientation program.</li>\n <li> Supervises LPNs, Nursing Assistants, HUCs, Techs, and sitters.</li>\n <li> Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.</li>\n <li> Performs other duties as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Minimum Education:            </strong></p>\n<p>None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.</p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Minimum Experience:</strong>          </p>\n<p>Minimum of three (3) years professional experience. <em>Minimum of 3 years critical care experience preferred. </em></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Licensure Requirement:</strong>       </p>\n<p>Must have and maintain Tennessee State RN licensure. CPR required. <em>ACLS preferred. </em></p>",
