AbilityPath is hiring for an Early Childhood Mental Health Coordinator! The Early Childhood Mental Health (ECMH) Coordinator plays a key role on our Help Me Grow team by supporting families with young children in San Mateo County. This position focuses on connecting families to early childhood mental health resources, providing care coordination, and coaching colleagues on engaging families around mental health, social-emotional well-being, and trauma-informed practices for children ages birth to 5 Compensation: $29-$34/hr Schedule: Full Time position based out of Redwood City, CA/ San Mateo, CA ABOUT US We are a non-profit organization that provides a variety of programs and a lifespan of services for individuals with disabilities. ABOUT THE ROLE Family Support & Care Coordination Serve as a direct resource for parents/caregivers of children under 6 with social-emotional or developmental concerns Provide warm referrals and follow-up for families needing early childhood mental health services Support parents identified through ASQ-3 and ASQ-SE2 screenings, especially those with low protective factors Program Development & Data Management Build and maintain a comprehensive database of early childhood mental health services in San Mateo County (eligibility, availability, service types) Generate monthly reports on referrals, outcomes, and barriers to care Document timely and accurate case notes and contribute to continuous quality improvement (CQI) Coaching & Team Support Provide coaching and guidance to Help Me Grow and Family Resource Center Coordinators on engaging families in conversations about mental health, well-being, and trauma Participate in case reviews and team meetings to offer strategies and resources for families with high needs Assist in identifying mental health professional development opportunities for staff Community Partnerships & Systems Engagement Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with mental health providers and community partners Represent Help Me Grow at countywide meetings such as Round Table, Systems Change, and other mental health-focused committees Elevate trends and barriers identified through family interactions to inform broader systems change Outreach & Parent-Child Programming Support in-person and virtual parent-child groups Participate in family-community outreach events, resource fairs, and educational workshops Serve as a public-facing advocate for Help Me Grow and early childhood mental health in the community EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE In our approach to inclusive hiring, we recognize that job qualifications have often been used to exclude candidates from marginalized backgrounds. Below is a list of Education and Work Experience that would be helpful to have in this role, however, we encourage you to apply even if you may not meet all of the listed qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree required in early childhood mental health, early childhood special education, psychology, or social work Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience with families and children birth through five Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish or other high-frequency languages in San Mateo County such as Portuguese, Mandarin, or Cantonese) Knowledge of ACEs, Protective Factors Framework, or trauma-informed practices HIRING REQUIREMENTS Valid California Driver’s License/ID Proof of negative TB test results Verification of physical clearance Passing a criminal fingerprint clearance 18 years of age or job permit clearance PHYSICAL ACTIVITY Employees have the opportunity to share access needs during the interview process, upon hire, and ongoing throughout their employment.
