    "requisitionDescription": "<div><div><div><div><div><p id=\"isPasted\"><strong>Horizon Health&nbsp;</strong>is a Critical Access, Rural Health Facility comprised of 25-inpatient beds located in Paris, IL &amp; a multitude of outpatient clinic settings including Family Practice and Specialty Clinics in Paris and surrounding cities. We have been serving residents of Edgar County since 1968 though community education, emergency services, and outpatient care. As we continue to expand our services &amp; locations, our community has grown far beyond Paris. Our rich history and strong community support pave the way for the future of healthcare as we serve you&mdash;our family, friends, and neighbors.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Position Summary:</strong></p><p>The Registration Representative is responsible for the first touchpoint of the revenue cycle. They are responsible for scheduling patients with a provider in the computer system, welcoming guests and patients, obtaining appropriate and accurate demographic and insurance information. Registers information into the computer system, directs traffic flow and maintains communication between clinicians, patients and other staff members. Communicates with and assists in the direct care of patients and families. Ensure the timely flow of patients and assists medical providers to provide optimal care to patients of all age groups including the physical and mentally challenged. Possesses the knowledge and skills required to complete assignments at a proficient level. Will also assist with rooming patients, assessing vital signs, and performing point-of-care testing as directed by medical providers.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Essential Functions:</strong></p><ul><li>Receives patients and visitors in a friendly, timely fashion.</li><li>Ascertains their needs and directs patients and visitors accordingly.</li><li>Registers the patient in the practice bookkeeping system which involves making necessary inquiries for specific information.</li><li>Accurately, legibly, and completely documents on the clinic record and completes form and requisitions as indicated.</li><li>Updates accurate information in patient demographics and insurance information on every patient.</li><li>Recognizes and honors the importance of patient confidentiality during all phases of patient registration and discharge.</li><li>Utilizes the practice computer system for scheduling patient appointments.</li><li>Answers the telephone promptly, communicates appropriate information, and takes messages accurately.</li><li>Directs patient and visitor traffic flow as is necessary.</li><li>Has an understanding of physician scheduling needs and uses judgment in scheduling patients appropriately.</li><li>Promotes a high standard of hospitality and positive public relations with all visitors and patients.</li><li>Understands role as part of the healthcare team and demonstrates technical skills related to the job.</li><li>Accurately, legibly, and completely documents on the clinical record and completes forms and requisitions as indicated.</li><li>Enters, retrieves, and prints computerized information. Updates computer skills to meet job requirements.</li><li>Obtain specimens and complies with appropriate handling guidelines.</li><li>Knows and practices good customer service; demonstrates friendly and caring attitude toward patients and families.</li><li>Good rapport with co-workers and medical providers.
