About The Role Heavy Civil Superintendent is responsible for overseeing field operations on large-scale infrastructure and site development projects. The role focuses on day-to-day leadership of crews and subcontractors, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality and specification standards. Key Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate field crews, foremen, equipment operators, and subcontractors to ensure safe and efficient project execution. Collaborate with project leadership to develop and execute work plans, schedules, sequencing, and resource allocation for construction activities. Monitor daily progress, maintain short-term and long-term schedules, identify potential delays, and implement corrective actions to keep projects on track. Champion a strong safety culture by conducting safety meetings, enforcing safety standards, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Ensure work is completed according to project plans, specifications, quality standards, and contract requirements while maintaining accurate project documentation and reporting. Basic Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. 5+ years of construction experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory, foreman, or leadership role. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, specifications, and schedules. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Valid driver's license and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and active construction environments. Preferred Skills and Experience Experience managing civil construction activities such as earthwork, grading, excavation, utilities, paving, or concrete work. OSHA 30, CPR/First Aid, or other construction-related safety certifications. Experience with project management software, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of quality control processes, inspections, testing requirements, and production tracking. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
