Entry level opportunities are available and thorough training is provided!</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Under general supervision of a physician or physician assistant, oversee and implement the prevention, assessment, management, treatment, rehabilitation and counseling of athletic injuries and conditions affecting athletes and patients within scope of practice.</li>\n <li>Review, obtain and order diagnostic studies under the direction of the physician.</li>\n <li>Obtain a thorough patient history including details of injury, past medical/surgical history, allergy verification, medication reconciliation.</li>\n <li>Perform an appropriate physical examination to include but not limited to: strength and/or manual muscle testing, range of motion testing, sensation testing, palpation, functional testing, and special tests.</li>\n <li>Construct and provide rehabilitation education to patients including range of motion, stretching, strengthening, posture and body mechanics.</li>\n <li>Independently provide continual education to patients and family.</li>\n <li>Assist physicians with in-office procedures by prepping patients and assisting with procedure.</li>\n <li>Generate orders for advanced imaging, physician referrals and physical therapy referrals.</li>\n <li>Remove post-operative dressing, sutures, and staples while providing additional aseptic wound care.</li>\n <li>Remove and apply upper and lower extremity splints/casts.</li>\n <li>Properly measure, fit and educate the use of durable medical equipment, in addition to gait training and use of assistive devices.</li>\n <li>Triage patient messages including general/surgical questions, medication requests, prior-authorizations, and post-operative phone calls.</li>\n <li>Coordinate or directly perform the scheduling/rescheduling of appointments, consultations, testing and procedures.</li>\n <li>Obtain accurate patient vitals including height, weight, temperature, and blood pressure.</li>\n <li>Complete all required documentation of patient care in accordance with the OSUWMC standards and guidelines.</li>\n <li>Collect and process point of care tests, venipuncture and other lab specimens.</li>\n <li>Opportunity to assist with surgery and become a certified Orthopedic Technologist through the National Board for Certification of Orthopedic Technologists Inc </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>If you are looking for a career where you can impact patient care and be a valued team member join the Buckeye Community today!</p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Licensure by the State of Ohio Occupational, Physical Therapy, and Athletic Training Board </li>\n <li>Certification by the Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers </li>\n <li>Current BLS Certification </li>\n <li>Bachelors or Masters Degree from an Athletic Training Education Program </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Preferences:  </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Previous experience working with athletic populations and/or experience working in an an orthopedic/sports medicine physician clinic </li>\n <li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills </li>\n <li>Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Pay Range</h2>USD $24.05 - USD $35.76 /Hr.",
