Recovery Network of Programs, Inc. (RNP) , is a private, non-profit, social service agency that has been serving the Greater Bridgeport Community and Fairfield County area since 1972. RNP is dedicated to helping those living with substance use, mental health disorders, and homelessness. Our mission is to restore hope, health, and well-being for individuals and families in a recovery environment that embraces compassion, dignity, and respect.
Iranistan House - Transitional Living Center – The Transitional Living Center is an 8-bed group home residential facility for men and women who suffer from severe and persistent psychiatric disabilities. The program provides residential and rehabilitative services to individuals who have significant skill deficits in the areas of self-care and independent living and who require a non-hospital, supervised community-based residence. Staff strives to protect the privacy and personal dignity of each individual while teaching, coaching, educating, training, counseling and assisting with daily living and self-care skills to enable each client to assume increased responsibility necessary for a full and independent life in the community.
Hours: Saturday & Sunday 8:00 am -4:00 pm
CORE FUNCTIONS:
Assess and record medical, psychological, and social factors contributing to the individual’s unique circumstances, including an assessment of strengths, needs, abilities, and preferences.
Plans and records the individual's progress with regard to finances, employment, nutrition, basic needs, housing, physical, mental health, well-being, including any identified substance use disorders.
Assertively links the person served to community resources and other natural supports.
Serve as an advocate for clients in obtaining necessary services.
Attend and actively participate in appropriate case management and treatment team meetings.
Records and monitors recovery plan and performs follow-up to determine quantity and quality of series provided.
Facilitates weekly groups.
Adheres to RNP standards of documentation.
Complies prepares and submits reports in a timely manner.
Assumes all other appropriate duties as deemed necessary by the supervisor.
CORE COMPETENCIES:
Bachelor’s degree in the behavioral sciences and two (2) years of experience in counseling preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Co-occurring competencies and or credentials are preferred.
Knowledge of principles and techniques of social service case management.
Knowledge of the physical, psychological, social, and economic effects of substance abuse, mental health, and trauma.
Ability to gather, analyze, and evaluate information pertinent to the provision of quality cases.
Knowledge of community resources.
Considerable knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations regarding client confidentiality.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative professional relationships.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to project a professional image.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES:
Incumbents may be encouraged to secure professional certification (e.g., CAC and/or SCCD).
A valid Connecticut driver’s license is required.
