    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><span><strong>You belong at Day &amp; Ross.&nbsp;</strong></span><br>\n  &nbsp;</p>\n<p><span>Planner</span><br><span>Full-time</span><br><span>Hartland, NB</span></p>\n<p>Schedule: Wednesday-Saturday 6am - 4pm/Every Second Wednesday 6-6</p>\n<p><span>Planning, organizing, and monitoring runs and deliveries in order to ensure the most timely and efficient movement of trucks and to minimize empty miles and wait times.</span></p>\n<p><span><strong>How You’ll Help</strong></span></p>\n<ul>\n <li><span>Identify required loads two to seven days out and organize for greatest efficiency.</span></li>\n <li><span>Assign and line up loads and deliveries based on efficiency and information from Brokers.</span></li>\n <li><span>Monitor scheduled runs to ensure they are on schedule and advise Brokers, Customer Serivce, and/or Planner in next region of any changes.</span></li>\n <li><span>Oversee daily activites of Drivers and addresses issues (e.g. load refusals, late deliveries, poor customer service) with Brokers; escalate issues to Fleet Services as required.</span></li>\n <li><span>Planners are tasked with the safe on time movement of freight between our customers and our terminal with scheduled and nonscheduled linehaul units&nbsp;</span></li>\n <li><span>Responsible for monitoring loads and trucks in a specific geography prioritizing and planning power to &nbsp;move loads to destination&nbsp;</span></li>\n <li><span>Communicate with drivers and brokers to execute plan&nbsp;</span></li>\n <li><span>Answering calls, email and other forms of communication to drivers, terminal staff, CSR and other departments.</span></li>\n <li><span>Monitor road and weather conditions and initiate required actions in accordance with D&amp;R policy&nbsp;</span></li>\n <li><span>Complete various reports and documents as required</span></li>\n <li><span>Be an active part of the Linehaul Team and foster a positive environment of continous improvement&nbsp;</span></li>\n <li><span>Other related duties as may be assigned.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span><strong>Your Skills &amp; Experience:&nbsp;</strong></span></p>\n<ul>\n <li><span>Post secondary education in logistics or business administration&nbsp;</span></li>\n <li><span>An acceptable combination of education and training may be considered</span></li>\n <li><span>Minimum of 3 years experience in a time sensitive, planning and organizing role, preferable in the transportation industry.</span></li>\n <li><span>Highly organized with exceptional ability to multitask and stay on top of current status</span></li>\n <li><span>Sense of urgency and responsive to changes in a timely and efficient manner</span></li>\n <li><span>Strong problem solving skills</span></li>\n <li><span>Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)</span></li>\n <li><span>Strong computer skills, including MS Word, Excel and Outlook; experience with AS400 an asset</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span>To apply, visit our Careers page at <strong>dayross.com</strong>.</span><br><br><span>If you’re chosen for the role, you’ll be asked to provide reference and criminal background checks before employment.
