    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Our Summer Camp Team is seeking a part-time temporary </span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Camp Leader (Leaders-In-Training (L.I.T.) Facilitator) </span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">(35 hours per week). The summer Camp Leader (L.I.T. Facilitator) will work in child, youth and community development with children and youth living in the Regent Park, St. Jamestown, Moss Park and Cabbagetown neighbourhoods.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\"><span>This 8/9-week role will run from June 22 until July 31, 2026 and August 10 - August 21,2026, with one (unpaid) week off between August 3-9, 2026 due to a break in the summer camp schedule.</span></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Please note that this job opening is for Canada Summer Jobs applicants only, who must meet the participant requirements under the Canada Summer Jobs Agreement with the Employment and Social Development Canada as outlined:</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Responsibilities:</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Plan and facilitate a 6-week Leadership Training program that is dynamic and enriching for all grade 9 -10 participants</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Participate in a 2-week orientation for the Summer Camp staff team; ensuring that all staff are fully prepared and equipped for the Summer Camp experience – the L.I.T.’s are your primary focus</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Collaborate with the Summer Day Camp Program Coordinator to create opportunities for L.I.T. participant involvement</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Provide leadership for indoor and outdoor sports, STEAM projects, field trips, and other organized activities over a </span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">6-week period (plus 2-week orientation)</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Encourage L.I.T. participants to build stronger relationships, develop leadership skills, overcome social barriers and foster recognition that they have the capacity to improve their own communities</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Provide opportunities for children with special needs to fully participate in Day Camp activities</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Participate in the planning and implementing of an end of camp event, and other special events</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Qualifications:</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">High School diploma</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Previous camp experience in a leadership capacity is preferred</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Demonstrated love for the outdoors and desire to share this passion with those around you</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Dynamic and enthusiastic – a multitasker with a strong knowledge of children and youth development</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Experience working in under resourced areas and a multicultural multi-faith setting</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Exceptional leadership and ability to motivate the staff team, as well as children and youth</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">You are a keen team builder, flexible, resilient, with a teachable spirit</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;
