Neighborhood Liaison (Tracy EHP) Hybrid Full-Time (40 hours per week) Position in Tracy, CA (Non-Exempt) Who We Are Ruby's Place dba Restorative Pathways (RP) is an innovative nonprofit committed to ending domestic violence, human trafficking, and violent crime through hope, advocacy and connection. Our services include emergency shelter, transitional housing, rental subsidies, mental health services, substance recovery, and wrap-around services. All our services are trauma-sensitive and client-centered and are provided at no cost to our clients. All programs are low barrier. RP is led by survivors with a focus on reflection, innovation, and connection.  We believe in fostering relationships, both in our direct service work and throughout our internal work culture. We aim to cultivate a workplace that appreciates and emphasizes the voices of those most impacted by violence. We recognize these voices are vital to interrupting the cycle of violence and transforming lives towards safety, unity, and trust. Who You Are You have a strong commitment to preventing interpersonal violence as well as an understanding of, and sensitivity to, serving diverse populations. You have excellent interpersonal skills and strong techniques for relationship building. You believe people should determine their own path towards healing, and have an orientation towards survivor-centered services. You are a go-getter who enjoys fast paced environments. You enjoy working both collaboratively and independently. You are adept at time management and highly organized with a proven ability to ensure you can meet deadlines, plan, organize and execute. You are comfortable working as part of a team and are an accountable collaborator. You excel at organizing, prioritizing, and following through on multiple time-sensitive projects. You are flexible, creative, and take initiative in handling emergencies. What qualifications are required for this position? You Are Also: Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, social work, human services, or related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered. Minimum of two to three years of experience in community engagement, outreach, or public-facing roles. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to navigate sensitive conversations. Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders. Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills. Experience working in homelessness services, community programs, or nonprofit settings. Familiarity with community engagement strategies and stakeholder coordination. In possession of a valid CA driver's license, proof of insurance, and be approved by RP insurance as a driver in order to drive agency vehicles.  If a staff member cannot be approved by RP insurance as a driver, employment might not be able to continue.  Instances where staff cannot be approved to drive will be reviewed on a case by case basis to determine if employment can continue in their role without driving agency vehicles.  Items considered include but are not limited to: the shift the staff member holds and the frequency/necessity of driving during that shift, the amount of time before the staff member may be approved to drive by the insurance carrier, the availability of other staff on site to drive agency vehicles as program needs require, etc. Able to complete all required background checks. Additional requirements may be deemed necessary, including fingerprinting (Live Scan), completion of all Community Care Licensing (CCL) documents, and ability to meet CCL licensing requirements. What You Will Do The Neighborhood Liaison is responsible for building, strengthening, and maintaining positive relationships between the shelter, surrounding community, and key stakeholders. This role serves as the primary point of contact for community members, local businesses, and partners, ensuring open communication, responsiveness to concerns, and a strong, respectful presence of the program within the neighborhood. The Neighborhood Liaison supports the successful integration of the shelter within the community by proactively addressing concerns, promoting collaboration, and representing the organization in a professional and community-centered manner. This role also supports outreach efforts, community engagement initiatives, and events that foster trust, transparency, and partnership. Responsibilities include Community Relationship Building Develop and maintain positive relationships with neighbors, local businesses, community groups, and stakeholders in proximity to the programs. Serve as a consistent and approachable point of contact for community members. Promote a positive image of the program through ongoing engagement and communication. Community Engagement and Outreach Coordinate and participate in community meetings, events, and outreach efforts to maintain visibility and strengthen partnerships. Support the planning and facilitation of workshops, presentations, and informational sessions about the program and services. Identify opportunities to collaborate with community partners to support participants and program initiatives. Issue Resolution and Communication Respond to community concerns, complaints, or inquiries in a timely, respectful, and solution-oriented manner. Work closely with program leadership to address concerns and implement strategies that support positive community relations. Maintain clear and consistent communication between the program and the surrounding community. Program Representation Represent the organization at community meetings, neighborhood associations, and partner gatherings. Communicate program updates, services, and outcomes to stakeholders as appropriate. Support transparency and trust-building efforts within the community. Coordination with Internal Teams Collaborate with program staff to ensure awareness of community expectations and neighborhood dynamics. Communicate relevant community feedback to leadership to inform program operations and improvements. Support coordination between outreach efforts and internal program services. Documentation and Reporting Maintain records of community interactions, concerns, and resolutions. Track outreach activities and engagement efforts. Provide updates to leadership on community relations and emerging issues. Complete functional timesheets by assigned due dates in compliance with time allocations. Actively participate in reflective supervision sessions. Create and maintain documentation of processes and procedures related to job duties. Other duties as assigned. Working Conditions This role is primarily field-based and requires consistent in-person presence at the program site and within the surrounding community, with flexibility to complete administrative tasks remotely as appropriate. You are expected to be available on-site as necessary given business needs. The Neighborhood Liaison may attend evening or weekend meetings and events as needed to maintain strong community relationships and representation.
