Description
The Construction Quality Control Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that a project meets all Premier Underground Construction quality and contractual standards by performing the QC inspections and responsibilities of a specific project. The Quality Control Supervisor role includes direct oversight of the physical inspection phase of the workflow process and working with Project Managers, Project Coordinators, Superintendents, etc. and external personnel to produce a quality product. The Quality Control Supervisor will report directly to the Quality Control Manager and Compliance Manager. This job description may not be inclusive of all assigned duties, responsibilities, or aspects of the job described, and may be amended at any time at the sole discretion of the Employer.
Quality Control Site Visits
Conduct job site/project visits
Verification of prints vs project progress and work completed during site visit for accuracy.
Present significant findings that require corrective action during operations daily meetings
Conducts audits/reviews and verifies that projects are completed and are in compliance with all regulations, codes, project specifications, and procedures/plans.
Follows Company safety policies/procedures and is committed to an incident and injury-free work environment.
Completes a minimum of two – three site visits per day.
Project Planning
Conduct site visits for new projects and review initial planning resources
Equipment Planning
Verify and report project equipment needs are met, and report as needed
The Quality Control Supervisor will ensure equipment available on site is in good condition
Material Planning
Verifies that all material received on job sites are in conformance with approved submittal, handled, and stored appropriately.
Employee Work Practices
Provides quality supervision support and guidance to all project personnel.
Evaluates and tracks noncompliance issues/trends and assists to reduce issues to a minimal effect to project efficiency.
Training new employees in company procedures and policies pertaining to quality.
Closing Project Quality Control Site Visits
Conduct final walkthrough at job sites to ensure compliance with company quality standards
Reporting
The Quality Control Supervisor is to complete a Quality Control digital report for all site visits and includes pertaining supporting photographs in the event there are findings, for corrective action purposes
Work alongside the Quality Control Manager in the creation and tracking of the COPQ reports [Cost Of Poor Quality].
Deliverables
Quality Control reports – 1x job site visit minimum of 2 per day.
Provide quality supervision and support to projects with quality deficiencies – as needed
Conduct quality control close outs and reporting – 1 report per close out with pictures
Client specific quality control reporting – as needed
Qualifications
• Has knowledge and experience in construction and construction quality control.
• Is a good representation of the construction division in quality matters.
• Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in the construction industry
• Knowledge of a wide range of construction materials, methods, and techniques
• CPR/First Aid Certification
• Ability to work under pressure
• Active Listening – Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking the time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
• Critical Thinking – Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
• Reading Comprehension – Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents.
• Speaking – Talking to others to convey information effectively.
• Writing – Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
• Coordination – Adjusting actions in relation to others’ actions.
• Judgment and Decision Making – Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
• Time Management – Managing one’s own time and the time of others.
• Social Perceptiveness – Being aware of others’ reactions and understanding why they react as they do.
• Computer Skills with Microsoft Word and Excel
