Our customers face wide-ranging challenges in the fields of national security, health care, and information technology. To address these challenges, we employ intelligent and committed staff who take care of our customers&#8217; success as if it is their own.<br><br><strong>Responsibilities&#160;</strong><ul><li>Radiation treatment planning and dose delivery optimization.</li><li>Radiation protection for patients and staff.</li><li>Presence during complex procedures (SRS, SBRT, IGRT).</li><li>Weekly and final chart reviews for all radiation therapy patients.</li><li>Dosimetry and QA for treatment planning systems and equipment.</li><li>Peer review participation and documentation.</li><li>Support for direct patient care (90&#8211;95% involvement for radiation therapy technologists).</li><li>Calibration and testing of radiation therapy equipment.</li><li>Maintenance and QA of treatment planning software and hardware.</li><li>Documentation of QA activities and performance metrics.</li><li>Support for acquisition and evaluation of radiation-producing machines.</li><li>Network and computer support for radiotherapy systems.</li><li>Participation in quality improvement meetings and staff meetings.</li><li>Compliance with VA patient safety and incident reporting protocols.</li><li>Documentation in VA&#8217;s CPRS system with proper coding and electronic signatures.</li><li>Attendance tracking and invoice verification.</li></ul><strong>Qualifications</strong><ul><li>Master's degree in Medical Physics or related field&#160;</li><li>Board Certification in Medical Physics or Therapeutic Medical Physics by the American Board of Radiology (ABR)&#160;</li><li>Minimum 2 years of continuous working experience within the last 3 years in therapeutic medical physics&#160;</li><li>Experience with:&#160;<ul><li>Varian Linear Accelerators (TrueBeam with Brain Lab Accessories)&#160;</li><li>Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT) including Cone Beam CT&#160;</li><li>Eclipse treatment planning system and ARIA record &amp; verify system&#160;</li><li>Treatment modalities including 2D/3D Conformal, SRS, SRT, SBRT, and IMRT/VMAT&#160;</li><li>IMRT QA systems (e.g.,&#160;MapCheck)&#160;</li><li>CT Simulators&#160;</li><li>Superficial X-ray machines&#160;</li></ul></li><li>Experience in a healthcare system with ACR or&#160;APEx&#160;certification preferred&#160;</li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills&#160;</li><li>Excellent communication and teamwork abilities&#160;</li><li>Proficiency&#160;in computer systems and networking related to radiation oncology&#160;</li><li>Ability to pass a government background check and complete required VA training&#160;</li></ul><p><strong>All candidates must be able to:</strong></p>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift</li>\n\t<li>Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist</li>\n\t<li>Lift up to 20 lbs</li>\n\t<li>Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance</li>\n\t<li>Push/pull with 30 lbs of force</li>\n</ul>\n\n<p><strong>All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran. </strong></p>",
