    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p>South Country Co-op is hiring a friendly and customer-focused Cashier to join our team at Northlands Food Store in Medicine Hat, AB. If you’re passionate about providing exceptional customer experiences, we’d love to hear from you!</p><p>Reporting to the Grocery Manager, the Food Store Cashier is responsible for providing world-class customer service in a fast-paced retail environment. Key responsibilities include operating the cash register, processing payments accurately, assisting with product merchandising, and ensuring cleanliness and safety standards are maintained throughout the store. This position requires a positive attitude, a customer-focused mindset, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Operate cash registers, process transactions, and handle various payment methods</li><li>Provide exceptional customer service to ensure a positive shopping experience</li><li>Assist with merchandising, including stocking shelves and displaying packaged products</li><li>Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, adhering to safety and housekeeping standards</li><li>Handle lottery services, cheque cashing, and apply fresh product codes (as needed)</li><li>Support overall store operations as directed by the Grocery Manager</li><li>Educate customers on the benefits of membership in South Country Co-op&nbsp;</li><li>Follow all safety procedures and company policies</li><li>Other duties as assigned</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Must be at least 15 years of age and completed Grade 9</li><li>Familiarity with cash registers, scanners, and POS systems preferred</li><li>Must be able to lift up to 25lbs frequently</li><li>Comfortable using electronic equipment (e.g., money counters, barcode scanners)</li><li>Strong customer service and communication skills</li><li>Able to deal with customers and team members sensitively, tactfully, and diplomatically</li><li>High level of integrity and a strong work ethic</li><li>Able to work both independently and as part of a team</li><li>Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt</li><li>Detail-oriented and able to manage time effectively</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Work Schedule:</strong></p><p>This position requires full availability, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.</p><p><strong>Why Work with Us?</strong></p><p>At South Country Co-op, we value our team members and are committed to their well-being and success.
