OIT is looking for a talented and motivated team player who welcomes challenges and takes pride in making a positive impact in the field of Public Safety and Technology in the sixth-largest city in the United States while enjoying the flexible work schedule, competitive benefits, and vibrant life in the City of Brotherly Love.</p><p>The Systems Engineer will be responsible for mission-critical cross-platform technologies, which include data storage, backup disaster recovery, active directory administration, network security, SAN administration, planning, architectural planning and design, server management and engineering, and other related infrastructure needs. This role is crucial within the Philadelphia Fire Department's IT infrastructure, thus sound technical knowledge of the subject area as well as consistent reliability is required. Professional skills, attention to detail, along with the ability to work within a team are necessary to be successful in this role.</p>",

          "text": "<p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Ensure optimal systems and infrastructure availability at all times</li><li>Provide strategic and practical recommendations for continuous service improvement.</li><li>Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality outcomes aligned with organizational policies, guidelines, and procedures.</li><li>Manage and support endpoints using Microsoft Intune, or other endpoint management systems</li><li>Develop and deploy system images across environments.</li><li>Possess in-depth knowledge of virtualization technologies, including VMware and Hyper-V.</li><li>Administer virtual environments, including VM creation, migration, and ongoing maintenance.</li><li>Perform Level 3 troubleshooting and resolution of complex system issues.</li><li>Oversee storage management and conduct proactive capacity planning.</li><li>Manage enterprise backup solutions to ensure data integrity and availability.</li><li>Conduct routine and advanced server management tasks.</li><li>Plan, schedule, and implement software and firmware upgrades.</li><li>Serve as the primary support resource for critical infrastructure systems.</li><li>Lead application upgrade, deployment, and migration efforts.</li><li>Oversee system integration through API management and configuration</li><li>Administer and monitor server performance to maintain optimal system health.</li><li>Address infrastructure-related security concerns and evolving system needs.</li><li>Implement, manage, and maintain Active Directory, including Group Policy Objects (GPO).</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) or higher from an accredited four-year college or university in Computer Science or a related field preferred.</li><li>Minimum of 3 years of experience in solution engineering, system upgrades, patch management, and enterprise backup and recovery.</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li><li>Strong organizational and time management abilities.</li><li>Effective decision-making and critical thinking skills.</li><li>Solid understanding of information security and network security principles.</li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.</li><li>Proficient in Active Directory management.</li><li>Advanced knowledge of PowerShell scripting for systems automation and management.</li><li>Familiarity with industry-standard security protocols including SSL, TLS, IPsec, HTTPS, SFTP, and Kerberos.</li><li>Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure or time-sensitive environments</li></ul><p>&#xa0;</p><p>&#xa0;</p>",
