Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for a Low Carbon Resilience Manager, Facilities Planning and Real Estate to join the Richmond Hospital Concept Plan team. Apply today to join our team!
As a Low Carbon Resilience Manager, Facilities Planning and Real Estate with Vancouver Coastal Health you will:
Be responsible for all aspects of energy conservation initiatives at assigned locations in the Richmond Hospital Redevelopment Plan.
Provide leadership and coordinate the effective identification, promotion, implementation and evaluation of energy conservation programs including the development of low carbon, climate resilientand environmentally sustainable design measures.
Ensure that communication networks are formed, maintained and support a centralized environmental reporting approach across the organization that is aligned with provincial environmental initiatives and targets.
Negotiate and facilitate consensus with internal and external stakeholders regarding energy and LEED focused project requiremenets and represents the organization on related industry committees to meet long term energy initiatives.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Building Technology or related field, a professional designation and additional training in energy management/sustainability, supplemented by seven (7) to ten (10) years’ recent related experience planning, implementing and operationalizing energy management programs in a large complex multi-site environment, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Knowledge & Abilities
Comprehensive knowledge of building mechanical, electrical and building automation systems.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with energy efficient technology related to lighting systems, HVAC systems, cooling plant equipment, heating plant equipment and control systems.
Comprehensive knowledge of project management principles and methodologies and experience with capital and energy projects.
Comprehensive knowledge and experience in project management, contract management, budget development, business case development, financial controls and analysis.
Thorough understanding of available resources for projects and applicable stakeholder groups.
Demonstrated ability to lead, facilitate and gain consensus with various stakeholders and teams.
Ability to maintain projects and meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment.
Ability to develop and maintain working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and as a member as a team.
Ability to operate related equipment including related software applications.
Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.

As per Ministry of Health policy, all health care workers working in publicly-funded health care facilities are required to report their past receipt of certain vaccines or history of certain infections. Collecting these records will allow for offering of any missing vaccines, and for appropriate actions to be taken in the event of any future exposure to a communicable disease or during outbreaks.
