Description Rogers Group Inc. is seeking an experienced individual to fill a position as a Mechanic for our site in Vega Texas. Rogers Group, Inc., headquartered in Nashville, is a privately held aggregates and asphalt highway construction company operating in 12 states with over 3,500 employees. RGI, established in 1908, has the distinction of being recognized as the largest privately held aggregate producer in the United States. We have 86 quarries and 56 asphalt plants across Tennessee, Mississippi, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, North Carolina, Kentucky, Arkansas, Texas, Indiana, Illinois, and Ohio. This role requires previous experience as a Mechanic working on heavy equipment. The role will be responsible for performing repairs, routine maintenance, and inspections on a wide variety of mining and quarry equipment and fixed plant equipment. The applicant must have a demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair a wide range of service issues that affect major components such as engines, brake systems, transmissions, torque converters, hydraulic systems, drive train components, heating/cooling and electrical systems, as well as other systems generally encountered in the industry. Full Time Hourly Pay (based on experience)- $25hr-$35hr QUALIFICATIONS: Uncompromising focus on safety excellence. Minimum of two years of experience working on heavy equipment. Perform heavy or major maintenance repairs as needed. Perform routine scheduled maintenance on heavy equipment and trucks. Complete maintenance and work order repair records. Inspect machines for abnormalities or defects. Be able to weld and fabricate, as needed. Heavy equipment parts familiarization including parts catalogs, procurement, handling, storage, and cost of heavy equipment parts. Perform housekeeping duties and work area checks. Ability to operate mobile equipment. Operate a company vehicle on public highways and job sites. Capable of working with limited supervision and scheduling own work. Weekend work/overtime may be required. Ability to stoop, push, kneel, twist, and lift 70lbs. Ability to climb and perform work on heights of 20 feet. Able to work in all kinds of weather conditions.
