This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at our Toronto office.</p>\n<p><strong>GFT’s Environmental Team </strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>GFT’s Environmental team delivers integrated planning, permitting, and compliance solutions that support infrastructure development across North America. Our team guides clients through Environmental Assessments and permitting processes, ecological and regulatory assessments, and environmental remediation efforts on projects that span transportation, power, water, and facilities markets. From environmental approvals to complex planning solutions, GFT helps clients protect resources, manage risk, and meet regulatory requirements with confidence.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:</strong> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ensure that construction activities, throughout all phases of the project, adhere to federal, provincial, and municipal environmental regulations, applicable environmental permits, approvals, and other regulatory requirements. </li>\n <li>Conduct regular, comprehensive inspections of construction sites to identify potential environmental hazards, and communicate inspection findings, recommendations, and best practices to project managers, contractors, and stakeholders. </li>\n <li>Monitor and assess environmental conditions during construction activities, including erosion and sediment control, air quality, water quality, and soil quality. </li>\n <li>Liaise with subject matter experts, community groups, and stakeholders to communicate environmental plans, address concerns, and ensure transparency. </li>\n <li>Support and advise Environmental Team in comprehensive environmental compliance reports to regulatory authorities, project managers, and stakeholders on a regular basis. </li>\n <li>Provide guidance to project teams, contractors, and subcontractors on environmental best practices, regulations, and protocols. </li>\n <li>Perform project coordination duties, including working with various subject matter experts, to deliver exceptional products on time and within budget.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2></h2>\n<strong>What you will bring to our firm: </strong>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s Degree or Post-Secondary College Diploma in a relevant discipline such as environmental science or engineering, hydrogeology, geology, physical geography, or environmental studies.</li>\n <li>Minimum 3 years of experience in the field of environmental compliance or environmental management. Preference to candidates with demonstrated experience in the construction industry.</li>\n</ul>\n<strong>What we prefer you bring: </strong>\n<ul>\n <li>Familiarity with ISO14001 principles would be an asset, including the development, maintenance and auditing of Environmental Management Systems. </li>\n <li>Canadian Certified Inspector of Sediment and Erosion Control (CAN-CISEC) certification.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated experience with federal, provincial, and local environmental regulations and permitting requirements.</li>\n <li>Aptitude for project management with excellent attention to detail and ability to problem solve.</li>\n <li>Successful candidates must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to collaborate within a team environment.</li>\n <li>Candidates must possess strong communication skills (verbal and written), demonstrated ability to perform data evaluation, and prepare technical reports.</li>\n <li>Willing to travel to project sites to complete necessary field investigations and data collection.</li>\n <li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.</li>\n <li>Valid driver’s license in Ontario with access to a reliable vehicle.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Compensation:</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The salary range for this position is $75,000.00-$105,000.00.
